Current Carlton president who has been on the board since 2012 should be walking the plank along with Teague, already came out and stated they want an experienced coach and expect to play finals next year.

If they  can get in before Melbourne offer Goodwin a 2 year extension they could snare Goodwin...fingers crossed.....

Awwwwww i dont hate the guy he lost me the year before last.....well documented here from me why, Goodwin is the coaches version of Jake Stringer....puts in a blinder around the time his contract is up....then the team has to suffer for the next 2 years....

Turning out to be a good year for the Demons, Luke Jackson takes the Rising Star award for this year while Clayton Oliver grabs the Coaches player award, Eagles will be circling Luke im sure...comes out of contract around the time Nic Nak will hang up the boots....

Finished on top so Goodwin should expect a contract extension by the start of next season and even ive been hard on him he lives in a cut throat world so mate take the contract when its offered cause your a long time gone when they dont want you anymore....

Hope we can hang on to Adem Yze and Mark Willaims in particular along with Al Ricco  Troy Chaplin the back line coach and Greg Stafford the forward coach....this mob seemed to have clicked beyond our wildest expectations......

On the wish list for the Demons for next year is to find another winger......

Good luck to Port tonight......

Toby Green 2 weeks.

It's a fine at best unless the Toby Green rule comes into play.

I reckon he's looking at 4 weeks.

Interesting in the fact that if it was a fringe player and wasn't finals then many would guess at 4 weeks and most likely be on the money.

I hope he gets off as love to see the best players do their thing but can't see him walking.

Phil Carman packed a lot of controversies  into his 100 odd games with four VFL clubs, but none more infamous than his two headbutts on boundary umpire Graeme Carbery in 1980.   Fabulous Phil enjoyed a twenty week holiday for his efforts.

I know umps need to be protected at all times, but this incident highlights how they sometimes unnecessarily get into the faces of angry volatile players.

Carbery was a little bit gay, and apparently endured a never-ending hurl of abuse from fans across the fence.   He died in 2017.   Following is a very interesting article about him.

PS:   Welcome to the AFL forum Dr Jack.

Thanks.

Actually stumbled onto it. Been here years and didn't know Thaivisa had it.

Yes Phil was an unbelievable player.

I liked his interview with Mike Sheahan.

Less not forget Robbie Muir when he went off.

Being Blues man (soon X if Lyon gets coaching gig) I've always felt Williams hard done by with the 9 weeks. Never made eye contact with the umpire.

Toby on the other hand full on confrontation with the ump.

You make a good point with Carmen..... that boundary ump got so much into his face and went to Carmen.

Toby on other hand went to the umpire.

I'll stick with 2 weeks.

The AFL has dug themselves a hole all year with the MRO.

With the Toby Green incident i dislike the trial by media.

All we saw was 2o seconds of footage.

At least going to the tribunal there will be more footage of before, the conversation and why the umpire was standing in the middle of the path after the siren had gone to the teams huddle.

Looking at the body language of the players it was setup.

IMO Williams was made an  example of(and the rule changed later due to the stupidity of length of sentence),the ump had no right to even be there as in Green's case.

Welcome Dr Jack,Radar will be happy to have another Bluebagger on board.

And don't take my comments to heart,i'm quite often outspoken with my views of the game and in general.

Good point re why ump in that position. Didn't occur to me.

I realize completely different, however the Williams one also, what was the ump doing there.

Just in from the tribunal.

Stevic testimony:
"I took the opportunity at the break to have a chat with Toby to clarify a recent decision he wasn't happy about - sorry, but I don't remember anything after that!"

"Dislike trial by media" yes well.......yep a poor Rod.....

There onto Chris Scott now.....if you watch footy on 9, if the Cats don't make and win the GF the circus will be in full swing...... wasnt enough to help the Blues board and review panel make a decision on poor Davie and what about Bucks?.....Hey Simon....watch your back if we get beat in the prelim your next for the "experts".....

The panel returned after a deliberation of more than 45 minutes to announce they had agreed Greene’s act was “aggressive, demonstrative and disrespectful”

So what's that mean? 1 or 2 weeks?

Geezus, Gleeson asks for 6 weeks.

Season over, more exciting than the Lindy Chamberlain case.

Probably about right for the LOOK of the game.

They didn't listen to the witness, that was for sure.

Stevic says that in the moment he didn't feel the contact was disrespectful, aggressive or demonstrative. He also says it was minor.

All he could say. Fans already don't like umpires (generalization), he can't give fans another reason to dislike him.

Oz way not to dob

Not quite FJ.

Stevic says that in the moment he didn't feel the contact was disrespectful, aggressive or demonstrative. He also says it was minor. However, having viewed the incident since, and having realised he didn't contribute to the incident, he says: "To be honest, I don't think it's a good look for the game. I don't believe the contact was forceful. I would say there is an element of it being disrespectful."

FWIW, I thought it deserved 4.

We can read into it all we like, only initial thoughts should be considered.

Anything after is simply peer and media pressure.

You were closer than me Will with 4,i thought a huge fine was coming.

The deliberate part was what he couldn't defend and should not have been able.

Back to the footy i don't think it will hurt GWS that much they have show the ability to adapt in the latter half of the season.

If Findlayson is fit,he is more than capable of filling Greene's shoes on his day.
