Following preliminary investigations, police believe that the fire broke out on wasteland outside the resort before spreading to villas located next to a perimeter fence.

Manager Online reported that it took 50 firefighters more than 4 hours to bring the blaze under control.

A little Thai bird (reliable or not I can't be sure) tells me that sugar cane farmers had been burning off stubble in a field next door to the resort  shortly it went up in smoke.

Good job that there has been a drop in tourists so that these "villas" were not occupied. Mind you looking at the remains of the metal roofing the blaze must have had some intensity.

Well at the claimed 3.5 million baht per Villa and using tin foil roofing, someone is telling porkies or else a potential insurance scam. You can get a real house for that money.

"Shabby  chic"  with the emphasis on shabby????

Such a collection of structural engineers, architects, arson investigators and insurance assessors. Such wisdom from a scant news report and a few photos. Simply amazing.

But do you get daily income from that house?

I stayed here years ago, it's way out of town and far from the beach. It's nothing to write home about.
