Once a month a book a nice hotel in Pattaya so we can escape Bangkok and go to this pretend beach. Today is that day, but for some reason instead of taking a bus she suggests we take a coffin shuttle van as it is closer to her house. Sure, I don't want to argue as the last month has been real hell with her, so off we go. We arrive at the shuttle stop and she pays something stupid for 2 tickets. But it's faster she says. After no shuttle showed up she asks some people and realizes that have been waiting for 2 hours. Oh, better we go Ekkamai because I don't know how long we wait. I say maybe it's not a good idea because a trip to Ekkamai today is going to take at least one hour....maybe it's better if we wait, but realizing where this will end I just agree we go. Sure enough an hour later while in the taxi she receives a phone call asking where are we and that shullte is leaving.

 

Ok, I just let it go, but if it was other way around I'd be the biggest idiot Farang in Thailand.

 

So we arrive at the bus station and the pile up of Chinese to buy a ticket is unbelievable. Record breaking. No bus for the next 3 hours (and they leave every 10 minutes). Now I'm totally pissed, but I know this will all somehow be my fault, so I am at the nearest subway sandwich place cooling off (please say hi - mid 40 year old guy in black t shirt furiously typing on the phone).

 

Anyway, I have to wonder how she ever got a job in one of the biggest international companies in Thailand. Just so epicly incompetent.

 

I wonder what she really thinks about me.

 

Oh, and please don't tell me about your smart wife. Not in the mood.

That's not a bad idea. Sometimes all you see are the immediate options (such as the bus because you're at the bus station).

 

Go tell her you're both getting a taxi and then do just that. Don't mention the van, the bus, the time or the money and have a nice day away instead.

 

She knows she has made minor bad choices, but you won't get far by making her acknowledge them.

 

You will surprise her for sure because I don't think she would be expecting it.

I was Ekkamai once when it was heaving and it was backed up for several hours.

 

Solution, approached three other stuck passengers and the four of us split the taxi fare. About 500 baht each. Throw some money at it. Better than hanging around

She bought the tickets while I was eating the sandwich. One hour to go.

 

And she wouldn't go inside taxi. She doesn't like being driven in the car by strangers.

Blame God, not only did he make Eve, he tells her not to eat from the tree of knowledge, not only that he points out the tree to her, a woman ! he tells a woman don't eat the fruits of that tree over there to your right. Sounds like a real sweatfest running around BKK then waiting ages for a bus which might have good aircon or may not.  

Have you been thinking to yourself lately, that you would be better off single, in a country where you can handle day to day tasks without needing a woman - especially an inferior one.

That is pointless, if you can't change it or walk away from it, accept it, it's so much easier and you have the bonus of being pleasantly surprised when everything goes smoothly once in a while.
