Big secret: Businesses will always produce where it’s cheaper, and they don’t need “Bureaucrats in Brussels” for it, otherwise Apple would produce its iPhone in the US. Do you really think Brexit will bring any of those jobs back, or stop businesses in the future moving production to lower wage countries?

On the contrary, businesses do need and do make use of the “Bureaucrats in Brussels” and the lobbying is extensive (and expensive).

And anyway automation / ai / robotics is advancing at an enormous pace as is global warming. Brexit will be seen by future generations if they still exist as a pointless national drawn out suicide note from a once great nation. All empires rise and fall , nothing is permanent.

Agreed. The EU is temporary.

Really? What nonsense. My father volunteered and fought in the Airborne and he wasn't even British.

Also a big supporter of the EC/EU.

I was not referring to your father.

And it's not nonsense. They even imprisoned registered conscientious objectors. Men dreaded getting their call up papers.

To fill the ranks the govt had to introduce conscription because most ordinary blokes had nothing against the Germans and objected risking their lives simply for the whims of politicians.

I had an old pal who served in France in the Great War. He never hated the Germans but hated the general staff officers and the politicians with a passion. In 1914 thousands volunteered till the casualty figures brought them to their senses. Then they were conscripted by law just like in WW2.

True, and that included many of your own country folk, well in the WW2 at least. But you don’t have a history of it, think WW1.

A bout ww1 I only know that it was a war from the 3 great country's England . France and Germany ,and the starting was a Prussian Grand duke shot by a Croatian anarchist.....and The Prussians (Germans demanded free passage for their troops to France by Belgium  who wished to stay neutral …., but how some can stay neutral while giving an army free passage …? Hence they got involved in the big Country's dispute , The Netherlands where more lucky as geographically better situated .

More story's I only know from my grandmother an old ante's who where the wife and sisters from my grandfather WW1 veteran, I only knew as a just walking toddler , and who was 4 years in those trenches

As always ...U.K (England) France & Germany  wargames ...

The Lords sat until 1.30am on Thursday when government chief whip, Lord Ashton of Hyde, said agreement has been reached that all the stages will be completed by 5pm on Friday.

“We have also received a commitment from the chief whip in the House of Commons that Commons consideration of any Lords amendments will take place on Monday and it is the government’s intention that the Bill be ready for Royal Assent,” he told peers.

In its current form, yes.
The initial project clearly indicated: Great United Nations set going from the Atlantic to the Urals.
It will probably require 20 or 30 years, maybe more.
But it will be.

Oh...!Don't scare them of , or they start already mobilizing ….5555 lol

Pity that Boris has already stamped his feet like a little girl and stated, "I won't, I won't, I won't ask for an extension. I'm going to tell Dominic, I am, I am...." Fortunately Moggy slept through the tantrum.

Oh, she was more than worthy! her cleaning my desk was the highlight of my day.

As I said, she worked for a company that had a contract that covered all of our sites, all over the country. The salaries were set in the contract and negotiated by head office. Well above my pay grade. We did club together and use every excuse to buy her presents.

Sadly, it all came to an end when one of the other guys put her up the duff.

You said it was 'my company'. I gathered from that that you were the boss.

Yes, the company I worked for and still pays my pension.

"my company" as opposed to "her company", the company she worked for.

If I reply to any more of your posts, would you like me to reply in words of one syllable?

And now the French?

I think I was being quite nice just calling you xenophobic.

Don't flatter yourself.

Victor seems to share the dream that DeGaulle had of creating a Europe from the Atlantic (Gibraltar) to the Urals. That objective is far too dangerous to contemplate. Putin annexed the Crimea right after the EU were known to be considering trying to influence and hold an umbrella over the Ukraine. The EU is led by a team of amateurs who need to pull their necks in.

Extraordinary article in the Mail floating the idea that Boris might resign with a pushback by 100 tories fighting against the sackings. Labour must let the lying pig stew in his own toxic juices until he implodes.

The leavers have never understood that brexit is a process not an event.

I doubt he's that foolish. An election now plays into Boris' hands. Better to wait until the EU have granted an Extension to Article 50.

Red box doesn't make sense to me. If the election is after October 31st and brexit is delayed, how can Boris win an election and try to overturn the no deal block in mid October? Has Cummings got a Tardis? Is he the new Doctor Who?
