Fire 71-Year-Old Man Dies in Field Fire in Yasothon
Picture courtesy of Matichon. A 71-year-old man died after attempting to extinguish a fire that had spread across his sugarcane field in the Leung Nok Tha district of Yasothon province. Police Lieutenant Prasert Losak, an investigating officer at Leung Nok Tha Police Station, was notified of the fatal incident and attended the scene alongside a duty doctor from Leung Nok Tha Hospital and rescue workers from the Por Phra Mae Leung Nok Tha Foundation. The incident occurred in a sugarcane field near Nong Kaem cassava yard in Village 4, Ban Nong Bueng, Hongsang Subdistrict. Upon arrival, officials found the body of Mr. Pornchai Charoenta, 71, a local resident of Village 11, Hongsang Subdistrict, lying face down in the middle of the field. His lower body had been severely burned, and the surrounding area showed extensive signs of fire damage. Relatives of the deceased reported that Mr. Pornchai had gone to the field earlier to burn rice stubble. However, the hot weather combined with strong winds caused the flames to spread rapidly to his adjacent sugarcane field, where only stubble and dry leaves remained. Mr. Pornchai attempted to put out the blaze, but thick smoke and the intense heat likely caused him to lose consciousness, resulting in his death. It was noted that he also suffered from high blood pressure and high cholesterol, which may have contributed to his vulnerability. Police confirmed that the family raised no suspicions regarding the cause of death. The body has been released for religious rites. Adapted by Asean Now from Matichon 2025-04-28. -

Crime Foreign Tourists Clash with Motorcycle Rider After Littering Incident in Pattaya
I wonder why anybody would travel 10,000 kilometers just to end up in a street fracas in Pattaya. It's almost as bad as travelling 10,000 kilometers and seeking election as chairman of the local bar complex pool league. -
