What do you do with Val's old knickers?

I would hope he puts them to good use by wearing them on the outside of his trousers when going into the village or town. Makes me smile just thinking about the looks he'd get.

Owl Log -31-01-2021 - Sunday afternoon

Off to the farm shortly. Yesterday myself and Mildred did a bit of fishing in pond one. Gonna fish again today.

Not bad for two hours angling. The two biggest went about a kilo each. The other three eaters between 400 and 500 grammes each.

Light was fading fast so pics not too great.

The house on the corner was progressing nicely. A good team was assembled for the post positioning.

Then it was all grunt and grown.

No rain on the horizon. There was a post on TVForum saying that had rained in Chiang Rai. We need it bad here; last rain 18th October.

The rat man said that he had lost one of his little pedigree rats. I didn't have the heart to tell him.

The twins were waiting for me to arrive on Friday morning.

I know I shouldn't, but I welcome them with a TeleTubbie greeting; 'Eth Oh'.

Picked Mildred up on Friday at 16-00. On the way to the school I'd dropped Mrs Owl off at the market to get fruit. Couldn't find her on the way back so parked up and went searching.

1099431847_MrsOwlbuysbag02.png.ad926ec42b0e3f8ce129a3208120e47f.png

Then she spotted me.

I wasn't gonna buy one she told me. "That's good teerak." "I ask him to come down, 1500 baht!"

"What! 1500 baht." "They last long time. Very tough bags."

Curly Wurly had been at the bins again in the night.

What to do? Move the bins inside the gate? I'll ask Mrs Owl on this.

Spotted some keep-fit ladies in Ban Dung.

529572685_keepfit01.png.68b5f31f86e958b25cceeafe0c394881.png

Not too many exercising. When I first went to Ban Dung there were scores each evening.

Just had news from my pal in Jamaica that they are legislating on a no-liability bill for any vaccine. My 18 months there were maybe the happiest period of my life.

No school for Mildred tomorrow (Monday). Just about to post, go round to her driver, pay him his 500 baht and tell him she's off tomorrow.

Ran out of Charcoal in the week. Jak delivered a bag this morning. Set the fire and started brewing my rieshi.

Still waiting for my book to arrive.

The biggie tonight; Irons versus The reds. Only one possible result.

Take care out there.

Bye y'all.

Mrs Owl has a lovely smile, were you waving your wallet ?

  • Popular Post

Today the saga continued of me teaching my wife to drive.

Shes actually in general a good, safe driver.

She taught herself to drive mums “Skylab” those 3 wheeled stationwagons (I call it “Mums station wagon” ????) and she also taught herself to ride a motorcycle and scooter.

Needless to say she’s been very frustrated having to deal with the farang taxi driver... that’s me ????

Today she was driving, and doing quite well, but for some reason she made a couple of small errors and started getting quite down on herself, and her driving started deteriorating.

To the point where during a 3 point turn where she clipped the kerb again she started one of her tirades about how unjust the Australian driving regulations were and how it was all my fault... ???? And that the Soi was not big enough for 3 point turn.

After I’d had my fill of her advice ???? I demanded that she STOP the car and get out ! ...But get into the passenger side ????

I then pulled out my wallet and slapped the cash (and my credit card) on the dashboard and reached behind the seat for her purse... at this point she realised what I was up to and exclaimed happily “No hap” ????????

Her smile faded somewhat when I told her that she could wager with “Homework” ???? instead... ????????

But she was sure I’d fail, 5 mins and 4x 3 point turns later she was a bit more subdued in the drivers seat and I’m looking forward to tonight... ????

I can't help myself:
Get his phone number and Mrs Owl can impart the important details. I've never known a Thai to turn down the opportunity to call someone on a mobile.

Plus when he drops Mildred off at home that's the chance to pay him. Or do you go out as an excuse to look for totty, as Mrs Owl has accused you in the past? I see more time in the shed looming.

Hey Owl, those pillars didn't go in very deep. Less than half a metre?

When the guesthouse was built on my GF's land, this is what it looked like in the beginning.

Maybe the difference is you don't have earthquakes in Issan? We sure as hell have them around Chiang Rai.

That ground was only made up 10 days ago. Plenty of time for some subsidence.

Don't get earthquakes. Plenty of very strong winds though.

Yes.

The general consensus ( from the TVF sleuths ) is that users of TOT are suffering the 522 issue, only on TVF,  while others, True, AIS etc , are not.

I can assure you that I don't use TOT in Madeira.

Just now, oldhippy said:

I understand that, am only saying that the majority of TVF posters currently in Thailand who use TOT are suffering the 522 issue while I haven’t seen a report of any of the DTAC, True, AIS etc users with the same problem.

Obviously there are operators outside of Thailand , who combined with the TVF site, are suffering the same.

TVF need to find the common denominator for this issue, shouldn’t be too difficult as it happened overnight so something must have changed .

A lot of this humour goes over my head. I'm just not sophisticated enough to enjoy Thai funnies.

Scottie John was the master of the pun and play on words. What happened to him?

Lots of fires last night.

Farmers burning of stubble. At least three different farms.

Don't think they should do it in the dark.

Right, thanks for explaining that.

Isn't stubble burning illegal now? Surely by burning the stubble at night there's no chance of being caught, as everyone in law enforcement is tucked up in bed.

Btw: 'law enforcement' - an oxymoron in Thailand, as we all know.

Yea but, if they did it during the day, everybody would see it.

ScottieJohn had a set too with TVF management during the fiasco that was POTY 2019 and took his bat and ball home ????

He tried to get back into the swing in early last year but his heart wasn’t in it any more and he faded away, last visited about 4 months ago.

Just an update 522 error seems to have been rectified for the time being ad hopefully last log than the last rectification. If not then I'll have to implement my own Wrecked flicked vacation.

Andrew, do you remember the poster who won POTY a few years back, an American who spent part of his youth in Central or South America. He had his own writing style, Jack Kerouac meets Hunter Thompson meets Henry Miller. Lots of stories, mainly involving young women. He posted regularly on the 60s music thread, he was living in Suphanburi with some woman, I gathered he wasn't in the best of health. I just realized he hasn't posted for months. What was his name?
