Beer garden info in central Bangkok ; both given and requested ;)

Featured Replies

Okay, folks. Here is a link below. The article starts with some bad news; in the first paragraph, it states that there will be no beer festival in front of Central World this year. I am sure many of you have been there at least once or twice. It has been one of my favorite places. I have been there maybe about 20-30 times over the years. So, that info was quite bad news for me.

The article is mainly about a new beer garden; right opposite Central World. It is good news, but, sadly, apparently, there will be only craft beer there, so we can assume prices will be a bit higher than those at Central World were, and I am guessing the place is not that big, so it might be hard to get a table/seat sometimes.

Anyway, that was the info given; now, time to request some info ???? Do you folks know of any other beer festival/gardens in central Bangkok, that is open now and will be open at least till the end of the year ? Cheers.

There was a set-up in the parking lot of The Street. Across from Cyberworld. Next to BigC. Accessible from Thai Cultural Center MRT station.

I recall it was sponsored by Chang. No idea if that was the only beer on offer. Music, beer girls.

Cheers. I don't know that particular area well, but since it is near an MRT station, I will check it out.

Prices for a beer in the beer garden?

From what I remember from the last time I was at a beer garden (last December at Central World), a jug of beer cost around 250-300 baht on average.  Prices could vary according to the brand (Chang is almost always the cheapest).  A jug is approximately equal in volume to 2 pints.

I found the prices there reasonable, considering that it was only a temporary venue (usually open for only about a month and a half per year) and considering they usually had live music.

I posted about this a couple of weeks ago, but no one was interested then!

Because you guys don't think ahead....as usual.

But now, oh no!

Central has decided to to pursue other more family friendly activities????

There was a time when the whole area was full of beer, music, food and fun.

But now another thing of the past.

The Wishbeer beer garden across the road will be a craft beer pop up at 300 THB a glass or something and not much fun.

Just take a walk to Beer Republic, better.

Considering the air quality this "winter" (or lack thereof), not spending too much time at beer gardens might actually be a good idea. ????

There's a place on Sukhumvit 23 called Craft that I enjoyed. It's got probably 100 beers on the menu, many are on the pricier side, but I remember local beers and taps being reasonably priced for a pint. You can order "mexican" food from the place next door to eat in the beer garden which the other farang around me seemed to enjoy.

It's walking distance from BTS Asok and MRT Sukhumvit.

that was nice. recall had a live band at each end but i got stressed out by having to give my tel # out to too many beer girls.

There is going to be a Heineken Beer Garden at EmQuartier from 6 December to 5 January.
