A special police task force has been deployed today in the hunt for a lone robber who shot dead three people and wounded four other shoppers in a daring gold shop raid at a department store in downtown Lop Buri province on Thursday night.

The robber, who reportedly wore a ski mask, army boots and camouflage clothing, was armed with a suppressed hand gun and a long knife.

The police have been ordered to track the robber down and to shoot to kill if he resists arrest, according to an informed police source quoting Pol Lt-Gen Amphon Buarupporn, commissioner of the Region 1 Provincial Police Bureau.

And that how you deal with scum like this, the rest of the world should take note.

Well Kwaibah, you gave me a sad emoji, I assume becasue I say he needs to be captured and interrogated?

Well he had a Can on the pistol. Where did he get a Can (which are usually European or American or Chinese made)?

How did he chose that shop?

How was he planning to unload the gold?

Where did he get the gun?

Ordniary robbers dont attach cans to their guns. The USA has thousands and thousands of legal Suppressors and virtually none are ever used in crimes. Robbers dont rob with cans. Why was this guy using one?

Arent those questions worth answering in a proper investigation.?

Kwaibah did the same with my post, he should stop and think about it.

About 70 ks from where kwaibah lives there was an incident maybe 17/18 years ago, when a policeman shot and killed a teenage boy, at the time police were looking for a young man reported to have stolen a large amount of money.

The teenage boys family had been in dispute with the policemans family for a long time, and when the teenager was seen by the policeman, bang your dead, later claimed to be mistaken identity.

Similarly I thought the announcement of the "dead or alive" reward was all wrong for exactly the same reason Colin described.

Anyone could end up seriously hurt or dead on a "suspicion" and that's wrong.

Getting the right sniveling individual for this hideous crime must surely be paramount as time go's by faith in that happening is in question here ????

One word.

Good.

Easy to build a suppressor. But only truly effective if using sub sonic ammo

From long time ago Thai police reserves the 'rights' to deal harshly with certain segment of criminals and in particularly those who killed people in cold blood and children among them in while committing a heinous crimes , i say all the power to you guys, some of those criminals doesn't deserve better and anyway, their lives would not worth a cracker if they be arrested and jailed...

Thats a good question, Yezhster, what do the pros say.

Well I sent the vids to a LE friend of mine (like real LE, old like me with years of fun with homiced and then the Fed before) and his paraprhased comments are:

1. The guy doesnt move like he was trained, he moves like a video game wannabe.

2. "Robbers" dont use cans and kill civilians unless they are either mentally ill in the freakzoid gun/military/loser sense or doing something political. The use of a can and the murder leads to those concusions. But look at the backpack and shoes, its like he cheaped out on the ninja outfit.

3. But if he was mentally ill gun nut, where did he get a can in Thailand (assuming its real). Yes they are easy to make, so that would need to be checked. But the blowups look better than  home made.

4. If not homemade, where did he get it? Thats the key. The guy needs to be squeezed. And every one he mentions needs to be sqeezed. Something like this, everyone who even <deleted> next to the guy would get slapped with some charges.

5. Have all the relationships between the victims been checked? The owners of the Shop? Are they checking political aspects?

I havent emailed him about the shoot to kill yet. He might join here and read my posts about Thermae, wherein I had a wonderful affaire de coeur the other night.

A shoot to kill order on an unidentified, masked gunman.

What could possibly go wrong?

The guy looks to be wearing a rectangular white faced watch and I expect with a leather band. Seiko and Citizen make rectangular white face watches. Also the guy is medium to large build so he is likely to be in the 68kg-76kg weight range.

Lots of military bases around Lop Buri. My guess is that he was or is a member of the armed forces.

Regardless, his days of living are numbered. Rightly so.

American gun slang. The reality is that a large number of TV members are not americans.

Quite true, The reality is that Cans are far more prevelant in the civilian populations of Europe though. Schallfdampfers are everywhere there.

It maybe why they want to shoot someone, anyone, so they can say the case is closed. Then the real criminal, maybe even an off-duty cop, goes free, sharing the booty, needless to say.

Well, why not? After all, they can't all be traffic cops, the most lucrative job in uniform.

This is very different to the headline, which suggests that he can just be shot on sight.

Shooting at an armed resister is not an unusual instance, and does not require a special order from above.

Personally I would be asking the mafia and gangster underground to help, I think this guy has connection there and they would more than likely hand him over - for a favourable blind eye without an envelope

Plus the chance to interrogate and learn his true identity/history/position in life. That may be revealing!

All this talk about the suppressor/silencer is silly

Anyone who knows Thailand knows many machine shops exist that can manufacture one

BUT.....More importantly  the suppressor is only half the job

The barrel of the pistol needs to be very fine threaded to accept the suppressor

Again easy enough for a good machine shop but the point is nobody just buys a suppressor

They need to have the pistol fit for it.
