The initial shooting , of his boss, was a financial dispute. After that the shooter posted that he killed the others to protect himself. So it appears a paranoid nutter

yes .... he was angry because his commanding officer shafted him of 50,000 baht that he was suppose to receive for broker fees on a land sale hence the first shooting, but i suppose he snapped and said enough is enough, i'm out to get anyone and everyone. imo

It's a shame;
we will never know why he did it.
The authorities will give us a scenario that is going well;
on the other hand the truth?
well you can sit on it; we will never get it.

He posted all the reasons on his Facebook.

We know exactly why he did it.

As to how he could commit such a horrific act, well that is another question entirely.

Are there any details on how they actually got him in the end, a sniper shot, a shoot out, shot himself ????

I read a story about 50,000 baht ..
Who can believe that an individual is going to make a carnage by going to kill strangers in a shopping center for a so-called story of 50,000 baht ...

He killed his Mother-in-Law and superior officer because they didn't pay him for a land deal.

3 killings were for revenge.

As to the rest of the victims, in for a penny in for a pound right? Didn't matter after the first three as the consequences to him are ultimately the same.

He said he went on the rampage to start a war. Most likely meaning some sort of uprising against the rich elites.

All clearly stated on his Facebook.

It might be time that this government which claims to be responsible, bans facebook in Thailand;
one can very well live without;
the proof, I do not have a facebook account nor Line, nor Twitter, nor nothing of all this <deleted> which is of no use for that matter.

They should change the unlucky name from Terminal 21 with 21 dead (including the shooter) 21 still in hospital and 21 gone home after treatment.

Terminal .22 ?

"It appears he went mad"

A qualified psychiatric opinion no doubt. God, these people...

Surely there was a way to disable and capture him without killing him? It seems to me there was enough loss of life already and if he had indeed gone temporarily insane...

Oh well, Thais know best. Seems like a pity though.

Great news. I wonder how much of the official investigation will be made public.

Worked out well for him, didn't it?

"It appears he went mad" ..

Too easy as an official response.
It is also the answer that we read in the newspapers of France when an Islamist yelling  "Allah Akbar" kills one or more people with a long knife. :annoyed:

Let's hope that was the final one.

My thoughts are with the families who lost a loved one.

R.I.P

Social media. here as elsewhere is a form of escapism, that's all. Grown-ups don't need it, only children need it.

It wouldn't be so bad if they were all looking at porn, but they're not, they're hunting for recognition, that rush of Dopamine/Serotonin that comes from someone saying they're worthwhile. Even if they aren't really.

Instant gratification.

The number of 'plastic SAS/delta farce' types posting SWAG all night did it for me.

What official investigation, this is Thailand remember?

I follow it live on Thai TV yesterday, about nine o'clock the police came with his mother in cry to try to try to reason with him so that he surrenders.

answer that cannot surprise us from a Thai or a farang more Thai than a Thai ...

Everyone in Thailand knows very well who is pulling the strings except those who do not want to see and plug their ears so as not to hear ...

Thanks for the clarification.

He is in all of us - the definition of man in a technology world...

people kill for $5 in a robbery so 50k baht is not surprising....

Don’t blame FB....Facebook is nothing but a platform..the sickos are the ones who watch it and thirst for more...it’s like watching those types of popular movies like Lethal Weapon 5, SWAT 3 or fill in the blank....

our societies and cultures condone and even encourage violence...we answer violence with more violence...
