Why would immigration be hanging around outside a hospital in Bang Sean nearest immigration is Si Racha?
If he was reported why not nab him at home?
Bang Sean is popular for Thai's but not for Farang si why even go there.

That's why I think we don't get the correct info in these articles. Everything from The Thaiger and The Nation online is imo a bit iffy.

The officers found the Belgian man, 57, walking with his Zimmer frame behind the Burapha hospital in the Bang Saen area on Thursday.

I don't think it's an uncommon view to see disabled people near a hospital. Did a snitch help a little bit?

The guy looks so dangerous and might have some automatic weapons built in his walker?

With all respect, but don't you think that's a bit too much to go for sick people?

Will he stay in detention and then get into a country where he's got nobody to take care of him?

Even animals are protected, but humans?

Sooner or later he would have been caught anyway. You can't hide forever. But of course someone ratted him out.

Did the police wreck any pursuit vehicles during the high speed chase of the Zimmer?

Believe it or not people do get sick. Remember your comment if that is ever you.

All these adverse retirement threads should be collated in one place.

Bit like the farang deaths website

Easily Googled by people searching for retirement in paradise

And wear their Rolex watches they bought from tax payers money.

Didn't they buy them off that Brit bloke from Pattaya that got lifted a few weeks ago? Saved the tax payers a few shekels, no?

The word 'kangaroo' to describe an overstaying Australian is subtly dehumanizing language. By describing a person as an animal, it encourages people to think of the hunt for overstayers as a hunt for game and serves to discourage consideration of the human impact his deportation might have.

Dont they call their own rugby team The Wallabies?

What about stories about illegal workers, illegal employers, boiler rooms, cartels, drug gangs, immigration service scammers, forgers, trafficking rings et al being caught?

You should read more Thai news , plenty of reported cases.

The Thais use animal descriptors aa insults.

Kwai, hia, ma etc.

Going by your rationale you are ok with calling someone a Thai monkey?

Thought not.

Naew Na reported that Chonburi immigration chief Pol Col Naren Khreuangsanuk had sent in his men to keep Thailand safe and inspire confidence among Thais and foreign tourists.

nothing promotes safety or inspires confidence more that taking down a dangerous criminal like this! After they deal with these priority cases they can then turn to the minor crimes of human trafficking and slave labour.

In another report on Thethaiger they claim he was busted by the BMW Smart Car but the Naew Na story doesn't mention that but it's in Thai maybe something lost in translation what to they call the Smart Car in Thai rotyongeng.

Also the Zimmer Frame is covered in plastic wrap like it's never been used or brand new.

Argentinians are the Pumas no? The French use a cockerel as their emblem. The Springkboks are S African. America has the bald eagle. It doesn't have be an insult unless you are determined to make it one. Aussie culture, such as it is, celebrates their association with marsupials of all persuations.

It was all part of IB chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang's strategy to rid Thailand of law breaking foreigners.

Correct. Immigration Offices want all expats to use 'agents' so they can quadruple their salaries.

He uses a Zimmer frame.  So do I.

Why does this excuse overstay?

Yes, we can argue all the other immigration “irregularities” that happen here, but being disabled (dementia and recent disability [e.g. current hospitalization] notwithstanding), no one should be able to play the “Zimmer card” to rationalize overstay.

Period.

If so many Immigration staff, in this case 3 on 1 man, who cannot walk fast, then be confident people, the Immigration Department must have allocated the correct number to track down and capture those hardened criminals! Thailand will soon be a hub for safety, without tourists, or retirees, the Thai Baht is strong. Unless I missed something most of the Visa runners etc have long gone. Thailand is for Thais, anyone that has been in Thai utopia knows that, the rest are just renting their time on Visas, until they have to go back to their country for medical treatment, or run out of money. Thailand just keeps on giving! (No take my friend you) The only country in the world I know of that does not give you permanent residency leading to citizenship even if you are married with kids. No money, not our problem, go back your country.

He is 57.   I wonder if he had been on a long stay visa but gave up trying to get an extension or could not qualify for an extension?

Do they use the bounty hunter model, are they paid for each catch?

That requires thought, action and time.. besides it threatens the bosses position
