So my American friend - a survey discovered that 69% of men in America do not wash their hands! 
I have always found that Thai people take care of their cleanliness- even if you staying with some friends / family in the poorest areas ( no wonderful power showers there ) - they may have several sloshes with a large plastic cup.  - even though they do not live in a mansion - things are kept clean and swept .

Interestingly his outbursts have provided an interesting data point that we have never known before. There has always been the odd comment aimed at foreigners here in Thailand, but most people on this forum have defended the Thais that they are all good people and don't really harbor any ill will against farangs. This widely published and outspoken rant has provided a focus to see exactly how many Thais really do look down on farangs, and sadly, it is more than most of us wanted to believe.

 

My wife just started speaking in group of Thai homeschoolers, none of whom knew she was married to a farang. The discussion went towards the statements above, and in her words, about half of the group feels that farangs are lower than Thai people, and certainly lack good hygeine. Not as bad as Indians and Chinese of course, but certainly well below Thais. (I asked her about Japanese and Koreans, and she said those groups were not mentioned, so presumably they are viewed as equals.) Since my wife has never been strong with math skills, I pushed her for exactly how many people made disparaging statements. There are 19 in the group, and under pressure she could remember 6 who vocalized their agreement about farangs. Mind you these are all typical, middle class suburban Thais living on the outskirts of Bangkok. Neither extremely poor nor extremely rich. As they are all homeschooling their children, they are all somewhat educated as well.

 

So if we were to take this as a representative sample, this outburt by Anutin has given us a view into the mindset of ordinary Thais, and that about 30% of them agree that we are a lesser breed. We have to at least thank him for bringing this racist bent to the surface and getting ordinary Thais talking about it. We can stop arguing now about how Thais feel about Westerners. About a third don't really like us very much.

It is to protect both yourself and others if you have the virus but are unaware of it. There might not be any symptoms during the first few days if you caught the virus but you are still able to spread the virus to others.

 

I can't blame the health minister for being angry when some foreigners don't want to wear mask even when it is given free!!

Given that around 70% of the world's pharmaceutical active ingredients come from China, now is exactly NOT the time to ban pharmaceutical imports from China.
