I  agree with you to a certain extent, but I also think a lot of the poorer people (maybe those that have moved to Bangkok ) in Bangkok are also very racist. I have had a few incidents the last year or so where some Thais have shown racist attitude towards me as soon as they saw me. It wasn't like this when I came here 20+ years ago, but I can definitely see the changes.

Simple. The super rich are the ruling class. The bank account and the show off relationship factor determine the height and status in the hierarchy pyramid. These super rich are only surrounded by humpbacks and subordinates crawling on the ground. There is never a contradiction or criticism.
These super rich prefer to live in their shielded world where they are the kings. 
And now it happens that such a Hi So leaves his self-made enclosure and becomes a minister.
And then there is global criticism when you show off your inability.
Many Thais cannot deal with criticism publicly expressed, even if the criticism is constructive.
The loss of face is experienced and then there is violence, whether verbally or physically.

I don´t think you see the picture clear. There is a big difference here. On this forum we have private persons making insignificant comments. Something that ain´t official and bears the load of presenting a country behind each ones back.

This person is an "elected", at least they say that, spokesperson for the country. That´s what most posters here are commenting about. I couldn´t care less if private insignificant Thai persons had a forum and posted comments of the same standard, but when an elected official and minister do it???

Yeah, if you sit down and think for a while, I believe that even you will understand the severity of the comment and the situation it puts the government in..

Erm. The Thai people did not vote for this current government. When the men with machine guns are running the country, and they have corrupted the legal system, it is difficult for the real people to change anything.

They voted for the constitutional change that allowed the government to bias the election in their favour.

 

It was a straight yes or no vote same as Brexit. The Thai people are to blame.

If he has been to Chiang Mai recently I am sure it's true that he has noted 90% of Thai's wearing face masks in the morning and early afternoon. This is because the air quality has been horrific. (Most people, including the "dreaded Farang" are wearing masks in the AM.

 

If he had stayed about in the early eveing when the air quality is significantly better he probably would have noted that 90% of Thai's and also the "dreaded Farang" are not wearing masks!

 

The reason for this is that most poeple in outside areas are not wearing masks for the virus, they are wearing because of the pollution.

 

I recently went to the extremely busy immigration office here and noted that nearly everyone including "Farang" were wearing masks.

 

As for the "Farang" doesn't shower, how would he know that anyway! What a total lot of horse ****

Perhaps so, although I would dispute that percentage; however the bolshie old TVF posters being rude about Thais, and revealing their bigotry are neither identified as, nor demanding the respect due, to a deputy prime minister and the senior minister charged with the countries responses to the pandemic.

 

What does matter is that any Thai contribution to, involvement with, and possibly assistance with managing the outbreak here or internationally, is probably compromised by this chumps ranting. It is a global pandemic, and the Thai health minister has demonstrated that he is a buffoon, to the globe and on a global scale!

 

You are Thai, I live here, and perhaps we should both be concerned, if not despairing that this country has just made itself an international laughing stock, in and over events which probably demonstrate the greatest need for international co-operation in the last twenty years?
