Parts of the Philippines now have legislation that only residents can purchase food and drinks from supermarkets etc. We all know how xenophobic Thailand is, how long be for something here is introduced..

Sadly in such confusing and stressful situations outsiders and foreigners are the first one to be be singled out and and lose against the wellbeing of the locals...

Just as well my wife still loves me. She can do the shopping, and cooking.

Seriously though, I do think the Thai attitude IS going to be a problem for us.

If it happens here  I'll just send the missus to the shops instead.... leaves more time for beer drinking.

Win Win.

The article says the restrictions are based on place of residence not nationality.

As I posted on another thread, my wife returned to Thailand on 13th March after visiting me in Singapore.

She closed our restaurant and has been self isolating.

Now the dumb a ss locals are all gossiping about the restaurant being closed because my wife has Covid-19 !!!

This despite our staff telling them the truth. Closed and self isolating for the well being of staff, customers and neighbors...

Anyone who has been here for awhile who does not have a female Thai or any Thai they can semi rely

on for exactly these situations, are unprepared and doing something wrong.

Always having a bad attitude toward the local people can come back and bit you.

My missus love shopping too, A few weeks ago she asked for money to go clothes and makeup shopping... I had no cash on me so gave her my credit with the strict instruction to not spend more than Bt.10,000.......... she was ecstatic and left the house with a massive smile.

Damn she was <deleted> when she found out the card I gave her was the old one that had expired !!
