Thai media 77kaoded reported that four more people have tested positive for coronavirus in Hua Hin bringing the number of cases in the town to six.

Among the latest cases were a British person back from their homeland. They described the person as a tourist who lives in Hua Hin. They are being treated at a private hospital.

The second case was a Thai resident of Hua Hin back from the UK.

The third and fourth were Thai Hua Hin residents who had arrived from Poipet, Cambodia.

The three Thais are in Hua Hin Hospital.

All four are on the way to recovery.

Hua Hin Hospital director Dr Niran Jantrakul announced Sunday a series of new measures to combat the spread of the virus.

The Thai traditional massage clinic at the hospital will be shut from today.

Strict screening and distancing will be in place for those using the hospital.

All visiting of sick patients has been cancelled. People should use video to keep in touch with loved ones being treated at the hospital.

People with non-urgent appointments have been urged to cancel to restrict numbers.

Pharmacy hours are being extended to help ensure people stay sufficiently apart while visiting the hospital.

The total number of people with or who have had coronavirus in Hua Hin is 6. Two have recovered.

Some 66 cases are under observation and 26 are in quarantine.

From the above article:

The governor added that a Phetchaburi man shared the same van as patients No 4-5 travelling from Bangkok to Hua Hin. The man tested positive for Covid-19 and has become the first case in Phetchaburi province.

“The Prachuap Khiri Khan Public Health Office has ordered the company that operates the van to bring all their vehicles in for disinfecting, and help track down all passengers who shared the same van with patients No 4-5 for check-up,” he added.

Does anyone seriously believe a mini-van company has records of any passengers? I suppose if they gave a mobile number for booking there's a chance, but people who turned up and got on the bus?

How old are they ?... the ones recovering.

Provide  serious valuable info - not just bits and pieces soundbites. Poor journalism reporting to say the least!

What does it matter how old they were. Depending on their health they make it through or they don't. In Italy a 95 yr old lady recovered. Some die at 28 or 48.

So far there have been LOTS more people killed by bouncers in Thai nightclubs, but do they stop the world ? NO !  and let,s not mention the roads !

Still in denial I see.

Here's the reality and try and  understand;

- We can easily avoid death by bouncer. We do not go to seedy entertainment venues

- We can  squash the likelihood of a crash crash by avoiding minbus and motorcycle transport, by wearing a helmer when on a motorbike, by not using yaba or alcohol when we drive, and by driving defensively. This in itself would cut the   road deaths and injuries by more than 75%.

These are measures we can control.

What we cannot control are selfish jerks refusing to self isolate or to follow basic social distancing. When I see the cheap bars continuing to operate and the farangs sitting there laughing,  I am angry. These selfish people then circulate spreading the disease.

The authorities need to apply the same regimes that are present in BKK across the whole country

You are absolutely right if they don't the close down in BKK will not help at all.

First, please note the reporter starts with the fact that one affected person returned from Britain, then mixes the singular "a" with the plural "their" then back to the singular "the person", and finally back to the plural, "They".  Nice use of the language and a good way for others to learn to do the same.  Also, note the "British person" is reported to be in a private hospital.  That suggests to me that the reporter is propagating richness/elitism among those from the UK.

The three Thais are in Hua Hin Hospital.

Meanwhile, note that the Thai are in a Hua Hin hospital but no mention is made of which type.
