At least in Scotland they are not laying on the floor side by side with 99 other inmates, lights switched on 24/7

And I am ashamed that even if they are delinquents a country still treats in 2020 humans people  like that, because frankly it must be seen to believe it, and it is not temporary!

"A small group of prisoners received a lifetime sentences earlier this week so they spread the rumour that the facility is unsafe for COVID-19,"

Good thing it was only a rumour!

Need a dull day in Thailand!  When ever I have seen the prison guards escorting prisoners to a hospital they are never armed....of course the prisoners are handcuffed and in leg irons so there is not a big window for escape!

Sorry to burst your bubble but! The guard with the black fanny pack is packing in the pack...ok? ????

And, before you tell me I am wrong...been there done that, in that very prison.

You just being lazy, using my quote, or just making up stories?

Not "being lazy" (?), sort of using your quote and definitely not making up stories, perhaps it's you making up stories.

The people in there aren't on a Holiday you know that don't you. They are there for a reason , they done something Wrong and they are getting Punished by Being Locked Up and Being deprived from certain Privileges. If they behaved themselves than viola they would've be free and could live a normal life.  ????

You don't treat human beings like that, period. Many will be low level drug offenders who have an addiction and are caught with a substance. Here's a thought, instead of putting them in a festering room with tens of people, why not try and address the issue of their addiction so they can change their life?, and be a better functioning person in society?

Why do Thai prisons still practice absolute squalid conditions that breach human rights? It's almost a death sentence to be in some of those prisons for any length of time. This country has a lot of growing pains to go through

Human rights, a strange concept in Thailand.

Being treated as sub-human being more like it.

Then again, prison's only for the poor here anyway!

The old saying

"If you can't do the time don't do the crime"

Every single Thai and every single tourist knows 100% what happens and what the conditions are in Thai jail's.

I am a believer in the Thai jail system and I commend it 100%

I wish Western jail's used the same system and I am sure the illegal drugs, rape and child molestation would stop virtually overnight.

Congratulations to the Thai Prison Service.

Thailand has a pretty solid attitude that "we are the best and we have nothing to learn from others". I dont think that will change. We can all see they are likely to be left behind in SE Asia sometime in the future, its going to be a painful lesson for them to embrace being humble and open minded, it will probably be learned by a generation further down the road.

Tell that to all the political prisoners, sure it will make them happy? ????

Same for them . ????

A political prisoner is someone imprisoned because they have opposed or criticized the government responsible for their imprisonment. The term is used by persons or groups challenging the legitimacy of the detention of a prisoner.

big deterrent is it? You might want to compare crime rates and statistics from Thailand to countries such as Norway, Finland, the UK, much of Europe etc.
