Does anyone know whether the eateries and supermarkets (like Makro) will be open during this Songkran festival 13-15 Apr? OR do we have to cook Mama noodles ourselves?

I usually go out of Thailand to escape the water splashing madness but this year, I am stuck due to the pandemic.

If you have a yard or garden, sit under a sprinkler while you eat your bowl of noodles. Voila!

How many are wishing they could complain about the "waste of water" instead of living under a curfew? ????

I've been here in CM for umpteen Songkrans and I've never witnessed restaurants or grocery stores closing during Songkran (excepting a few mom and pop places where the owners took a short vacation to go to their home villages to celebrate).  Obviously the OP hasn't been around here before during Songkran holidays.

You are aware of this virus thing, aren't you CMBob?

We've already been warned not to have any fun on the holiday.

However, there are (water tossing) pails for sale at BigC.

The governor of Phuket is allowing Songran to go ahead with restrictions, the Chiang Mai governor normally follows suit.

Expect an announcement in the next day or two.
