Chiang Mai province has not found any new Covid-19 patients for four consecutive days, with total infections at 40 and 19 allowed to return home, Dr Waranyu Chamnongprasartporn of the province’s public health office said on Sunday (April 12).

“Among 1,000 suspected persons, doctors found no virus in 931, while the other 69 are being monitored in hospitals,” he said.

The doctor said the Covid-19 death risk was 1 per cent for those aged up to 49 years, 1.3 per cent for people 50 to 59, 3.6 per cent for those in the 60-69 group, 8 per cent for seniors aged 70 to 79, and 14.8 per cent for those 80 to 89.

Drinking alcohol can increase the risk of infection as it can lower immunity, he warned. Besides, alcohol causes patients to stay sick for a longer time.

Great news! I'll drink to that . . . er, uh, I guess I won't.

Good Job! Congratulations to all Puket residents and expats as well as "stranded" tourists.

Let's hope that continues and there's more positive news for other provinces too.

No joke, I think the bad air and heat may be choking it off.  Just a guess the numbers are truly great in CM.

The curve is starting to flatten.

What curve ? There never was a curve.

Just a fairly flat line of low infections
