  • Utterly pathetic. They love to be all tough and authoritarian when they’re dealing with simple problems or problems they don’t need to be getting involved with personally. Acting like they know everyt

Truth is no one knows what to do, Government is out of money , economy falling apart , tourism dead.

No one ever lived through something like this, but at least he is wise enough to ask for help from people with business sense instead of asking generals.

if figures are true or at least honest, thailand has not done so badly, just where to go from here is the question

No, sorry i was not a witness to "clamour".  Was just curious as to the source of Yadon Toploy's claim that 28 million Thais claimed Government support.

https://www.thairath.co.th/news/business/1808249

In the first 2 days 19.8 million applied so 28 million seems likely to me..these are people applying/claiming support..not those who are actually receiving it which for now is something like 1.8 million

But then they would have no money to build more ICONic shopping- malls!

You know...the ones, really everybody needs!

Thailands super- rich are the greediest bunch of people, I have ever seen!

Let's not stop with the first 20 billionaires.  Let's reach down further so we get to the multi-millionaires like the PM, himself, and ask them to cough up a bit of their wealth, too.  Remember it's Team Thailand!  Join up, multi-millionaires.

They are not in power to give, they are in power to take!

Seems a bit like monkey see monkey do by just copying ideas from other major countries. As for the shambles of paying the people their 5000 bht , when is it happening as I know people who were approved and still waiting on being paid . Although I’m sure he is trying to force them back to work so as they don’t get paid .

Fire up the money printing press.  Baht such high value anyways.

And it will still stay strong, no matter what happens.

I remember a few years back that Gates was on an Asian tour asking for the wealthy to give back to their societies...it is quite well known that the Asian rich gives very little to their respective cultures hence the severe inequities between rich and poor...

asking him to give 10 million baht?

That is like $350,000 - mediocre US professional sport players do that....

Why dont they become Thailand Vlogers. Jesus, what a Buch O Bums Thais tollerate. Money for Nothing Scum.

Short on cash? How about cancelling the second 12b baht submarine purchase and returning the first one?

The audacity of this #BeggarGovernment. No, they’re not asking Thaksin for help (he’s Forbes No. 16). They’re asking Thanathorn’s mother (she’s No. 28). While EC is pursuing a criminal case against Thanathorn for running in the election. #รัฐบาลขอทาน

Prayut should take 100k out of 800K bank deposit from each expat account. Apparently only westerns spend big money in Thailand, so they wont miss it.????

They haven;t got the receipt to allow a return on purchase

Correct, red bull heir has the receipt but they are unable to locate him.

We need to have a reality check all of us, this whole thing is over paper! Which grows on trees, so because where in a global crisis , why doesn't each head of state/king of country, print more money and hand it out, easy that way people won't be as much stressed out

By asking the richest people to help, at the end it will be justified for these richest people to keep on corrupting in a legal way because then they will say we helped in a time of need so now we can get some back . The richest people of thailand are still making money in this time of need . People who do not have any money left have to sell what they have for well under the price , and who do you think will buy it and later on make money from it AGAIN .

They could sell RP Residency Permits for 100k without any loopholes I would buy one.

Has the government thought of this, if it is financial help they're after:

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/15/jacinda-ardern-and-ministers-take-20-pay-cut-in-solidarity-with-those-hit-by-covid-19?fb

New Zealand’s prime minister has said she and other ministers will take a 20% pay cut lasting six months to show solidarity with those affected by the coronavirus outbreak, as the death toll continues to rise.

Jacinda Ardern said it was important the government’s most highly paid politicians show “leadership and solidarity” with workers on the frontline and those who had lost their livelihoods. Ardern, government ministers and public service chief executives will take the cut for six months, effective immediately.

If I was one of these 20 I would do it on one condition; that he resigns.

Why? They are all part of the same gang.

And the gang have worked this one out. They are the people who drive this government. They will know the level of dissatisfaction, hopelessness and even desperation amongst the millions who have abruptly lost everything. They will wish to be seen as the benefactors - perhaps the saviours of the poor. It is ultimately a strategy to ensure they remain in their place. They will get anything they "give" back.

Hold on for a moment.

If the country are so rich, has so much reserves as we been told times after times, and the virus are on a downward trend why the need to Beg the 20 richest families for "resources" also known as money?

Can't afford to pay 5k for three months, rush open society 1 May, against the trends of many countries who extend lockdown, a lot doesn't make sense here.

I already disabled my western logic and common sense, still I look like this

Well, I for one, and I'm sure I'm not alone in saying this, feel sorry for the old chap - he's always getting it in the neck regardless of his selfless and tireless efforts to enrich the lives of all society - by proxy of course.

One would like to believe his master's will deem it fit to consider having it washed firstly, on an individual basis of course, before proffering. Would hate to think of him having to get down and dirty in such an impeccably ironed uniform.

Maybe his advisors should recommend wearing the clothes of the common man for such an event, or perhaps kneeling in their flip flops for a day - as is usual.

I wonder if he will be asking Thanathorn Juangroongruangkit the deposed leader of the Future Forward Party to donate.

"The government alone cannot give answers to all questions" he said according to Bangkok Post. Why not ask this guy? ????
