No more social distancing on domestic flights in Thailand

The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has further eased domestic air travel service restrictions, by doing away with the on-board social distancing requirement.

 

CCAT Director Mr. Chula Sookmanop said today that, from now on, airlines can sell all the seats on each flight, without the need to leave some vacant for social distancing.

 

The airlines, however, must improve their in-flight air ventilation systems and replace the high efficiency particulate air filters on a regular basis, in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

Oh sure they will replace the high efficiency virus stopping filters on a regular basis.

 

Increase in flight air ventilation? Maybe roll down the windows? Should be about as effective as the high efficiency often changed filters 555

Well if the are doing it on flights,surely the same thing should apply to all forms of transport and venues. No difference sitting on a plane next to someone than sitting in a restaurant.

Yeah right, like this going to be implemented anytime soon. there aren't any social distancing anywhere you go now days why should it any diffident on board an airplane?...

No they said they are going to change filters regularly as per manufacturers recommendation....Does that mean they haven’t been doing that already..I am sure the manufacturers regulations for changing filters during a virus pandemic is in their manual somewhere.

How about this for a suggestion, do away with the idea of social distancing altogether, if it is safe being in a confined space where people are by nature of the design of the aircraft then surely sitting at an outdoor bar or restaurant should logically be much safer....QED !!!!!

No, they're instead installing personal full body condoms that drop down from the ceiling in case anyone sneezes. It is important to remember to put on your own condom before helping anyone else put on theirs. Modern jets have systems to constantly recirculate cabin air and pass it through a HEPA filter; restaurants don't.

Yes. They have been made mandatory for flights in pretty much every country - in all Asian countries is a given, with one surprising exception: Japan. Yes, Japan doesn't make it absolutely mandatory for passengers to wear face masks on board it's domestic services, though most passengers wear them anyway.

 

US airlines have recently intensified their mask mandates, while several European airlines require them now too, until at least the end of August (according to KLM).

Vietnam ended social distancing requirements on it's flights about a month ago. Thailand has finally caught up. Baby steps.

A HEPA filter will not stop Covid aerosols if the person sitting next to you coughs them on you, either on a plane or in a restaurant.

I am sure if a passenger sneezes the filters will suck harder to get every droplet before anyone either side or front back will catch anything. You know you are stupid so why do you comment? These infringements of your rights are totally unnessary anf any professional virologist, Doctor, Scientist, pulmonary specialist or consultant is censored for challanging the narrative. Even leaked government reports stating that the so called questionable virus is a pussy cat by comparison to the Flu and would have little to no effect on normsl yearly death figures from other viruses. In fact it is claimed that the lockdown and the procedures implimented contributed in a large way to unnessary deaths! However, governments don't want to be sued for the damage done so just like Thailand without a case im in 25 days has still got restrictions in place and continuing to destroy industries whom I hope will come together and challenge the narrative in court and expose the fraud and incompetance.

Could of done that sometime ago. They don't give a stuff. Many small bars in places such as Udon Thani are owned by farang and quiet at best of times.

BTW a shout out to the bar and staff owners doing it tough everywhere.

Wouldn't be surprised if gov hoping for many to shutdown.

Breathing the majority of air as recycled as in a plane is not a good thing to do if you're wanting to avoid a highly contageous virus. As for me/us we're sweet-as cause I've been paying shedloads to keep the family water buffalo really healthy and we plan a trip using her as our mode of transport.

You´re right, but empty seats in a restaurant don´t usually waste as much money, as empty seats in an airplane, which will be reflected on your ticket prices . .

No because the equipment in your house does not filter all the air in it every 3 minutes. Its not just the filter its also the amount of air that is filtered. There is nothing better then a plane for that. 

People moaning about restaurants and bars should understand that restaurants and bars don't have systems that filter the air every 3 minutes but planes do. Add to that the fact that people have to use masks it makes things a lot safer then a bar (every expats wet dream seems to be the opening of girlie bars again)

Thank you for the explanation, there was me thinking the air in a plane was primarily recirculated & that was why it was filtered, unlike in a restaurant, where you are breathing clean fresh air, unless you wan't to buy into the nonsense!

"Every expat dreams" are you one of them or just taking the opportunity to make a derisory comment? personally I haven't been in a "girlie" bar for over 10 years!
