Land dispute: Thai man, 70, surrenders to police after shooting at couple in Ratchaburi - pregnant woman is dead

A seventy year old man is now in the custody of the Ratchaburi police after he gave himself up on Saturday following the shooting of a couple in Pak Thor district on Friday. 

 

Phitak, 31, was seriously wounded and his wife, 28 year old Jindarak who was four months pregnant, was killed.

 

Krit, 70, was taken on a reenactment of the crime after he surrendered to Pak Thor police. An attempt was made to find the murder weapon.

 

He said that he had been involved in a land dispute with the couple.

 

He was in the process of putting up a gate when the couple arrived in a white Ford car and a furious argument developed. 

 

Unable to control his emotions he used a .38 gun and shot indiscriminately into their car. He didn't know if he had hit them or not.

 

They drove off and crashed 100 meters away. 

 

He got into his Honda CR-V and fled the scene as well.

 

He has been charged with both murder and attempted murder.

I always thought that people would mellow out with age.. obviously not. Giving him life will unfortunately not be that long.

Yep, these old codgers are a menace when it comes to land.

 

The fact that he put up a fence years ago and now claims land that isn't his is neither here nor there.

 

The old fart next to us built his rice hut 2 metres onto our land, and because it was already there for years, he couldn't understand why we wanted him to move it, when we got the land.

 

Had to get the puu-yai and his family members involved b4 he would take it down. He's dead now, so couldn't take it with him. ????

Old fart moved posts in 1 metre from the boundary line. I noticed it first and pointed it out to the wife. He had only just started. Wife said to leave him alone.

 

Time passed and after 3 months, he had successfully moved in, his posts by 1 additional metre over a very long distance. Once finished, then ......... the wife took action. ????

 

He had to spend another 3 months moving them all back. This was when I seen the devious and fun side of the wife. ????

I think its not specifically an old guys thing. I was joking a bit. One would think that someone that old would be more mellow. Some people are just total idiots and dangerous too. I fear  not hing more then an idiot as they don't think about the consequences of their actions.

 

You can be right in the eyes of the law.. stronger and healthier but if someone with no respect for the law or even think about the consequences of his actions goes after you your screwed.

Another tragic senseless killing by an idiot with a gun, an all too familiar scenario.  Maybe the government should stop patting themselves on the back over how well they handled COVID-19 and do something about the real problems in this country that are killing thousands, guns and road carnage, but sadly no one cares. Stupidity has no age limits the piece of cow dung should be executed.

The woman was pregnant. So, should be "charged with two murders and attempted murder".

 

At that age the killer won't spend long in jail. A sentence reducing that time should be imposed.

We had a small, narrow lot in Loei.  A guy built a row of student rooms next door, and put a wall about 2 meters into our lot making it even more narrow.  We had it in sis-in-law's name, so she fought the guy in court for years.  He was a government official and figured he could do whatever he pleased.  Little did he know who he was dealing with.  We won the case after the court finally threatened to take away his government retirement.  The wall was moved.

he did it at 70 because he'll live maybe another 5-10 yrs so he's fine with that.

What is wrong with you people?  Unless this was self defense, which it clearly wasn't the other two were in their car, then it's murder.  It's irrelevant what their argument was or who's land it was.
