Mystery death in Cha-Am of man in pick-up: Wife says she murdered him then staged an accident

A Thai wife has told police in Cha-Am that she murdered her husband then staged an accident

Pithayut, 42, was found dead behind the wheel of a pick-up next to a large tree on the Cha-Am to Pranburi bypass.

But there was no damage to the vehicle at all.

The victim had his face smashed in and a cut under his chin according to previous reports that said fingerprints in blood were found on the OUTSIDE of the vehicle.

Yesterday at 10 pm the victim's wife Sumarin surrendered to Cha-Am police saying that she killed him alone.

Both police and her father believe this is nonsense and at least one and possibly several others were involved in the killing and the staging of the accident.

Following media pressure in the case and actions of her sister, Sumarin told her parents that after they had visited her at a rented room she and her husband and her new lover had tried to iron out their differences.

But, she said, her husband attacked her with a knife causing her new man to intervene. The victim was then knocked over and she then smashed his face in and killed him.

CCTV at the address where the incident happened inside showed a woman and five men outside.

The mother and father were seen leaving the address at 1.30 am.

Police think that the wife and the new boyfriend murdered him together and that the friends then helped stage the accident scene.

However, they didn't do a very good job and nobody, least of all the police, were fooled.

More specific details are expected to emerge today.

These new boyfriend relationships are normally very short, they just don’t understand that killing the old boyfriend or the new one results in a trip to BK Hilton
