Philippines to let in long term visa holders

Featured Replies

I see that the Philippines are gonna open up for holders of long term visa so they can return to the country. Lets hope that Thailand can learn something from this so that people on Non-O retirement extension will be allowed to enter the country after a visit to, say Europe.

There's a big difference between being on the SSRV scheme in the PI and doing annual extensions to a Non-Imm O based on retirement in Thailand, lol.

It is not altogether clear what the definition of "long term" is. Currently, the only ones recognized is the 13a visa meaning a foreigner married to a Filipino the same goes for an SRRV holder, the only ones allowed in have to be married to a Filipino.  Everyone stranded outside of the Philippines  is waiting for more specifics for August 1st.

There are many differences.  The SRRV comes indirectly from immigration.  The  SRRV is submitted by the PRA which is a branch of the Department of Tourism.  Their mandate is to get more SRRVs and, in general, all the offices in the country are on the same page.  It is kind of like using an official agent.

I'm in the Philippines now and they will let them in. Lucky l came here after divorce due to easy VISA and better here than OZ
