Naew Na reported on the horror smash of a Honda Civic at 1 am this morning in the area of Ban Chang, Rayong.

The engine was detached from the car and there were bits everywhere after it rolled repeatedly.

It had hit a wall at U-Tapao airport.

The driver, a navy captain by the name of Chatchanan, 25, managed to crawl out and was not seriously injured.

He was taken to hospital when the police and rescue services arrived.

He said that he was on his way to Sattahip when he lost control of his vehicle and it rolled over and over.

Naew Na said that he was wearing a Somdej Krom Luang Chumporn medal - used by navy personnel to protect them from harm.

Yes, common sense wouldn't be to suggest that the airbags, his seat belt and luck saved him. It was a Somdej Krom Luang Chumporn medal - used by navy personnel to protect them from harm ????.

Well I guess those unlucky 76 that died yesterday only had plain old ordinary amulets. Obviously not as strong as this medallion......

In the interest of fairness, can we hear from all those killed wearing amulets that didn't save them?

That maybe a bit difficult.....????

An out and out moron, and  a Senior Navy officer.  Says it all. If there ever is a war here , this lot will not last a day. Their fly boys are just as bad.

That's why they drive like lunatics, tailgate and don't look before merging into traffic because an amulet will protect....no wonder then nearly 8000 dead on the roads this year so far.

( not counting those who died in hospital or on the way to hospital)

The "war" was won here a long time ago.
