August 10, 20205 yr Popular Post After driving past for the last few days and seeing the girl(s) sitting out front I thought today I might pop in for a drink. As I'm not a regular (only ever been there once before ) I checked their website this morning for the price of drinks. After seeing the house wine at 120 baht I thought I'll have that instead of a beer. So I arrived at the bar ordered a house wine (not brilliant but not bad) and then looked at the bill 180 baht. It's not that I haven't paid that price before but normally as part of a meal and not just as one off. Anyway it will be a one off as I wont be back. Why dont these restaurants etc up date their websites when they change things.
August 10, 20205 yr Popular Post Yup, they should have updated their website but you could have and should have easily verified the price by asking the server or checking the menu. Half the blame is really yours.
August 10, 20205 yr Popular Post Certainly seems that menu page has a few cobwebs on it....."Copyright Pattaya Beer Garden 2008"

August 10, 20205 yr Popular Post Did they not have a menu or price list, if you are placing all your hopes and expectations on a 12 year old promotion and end up having to pay 60 baht more than you hoped for, then some of the disappointment is down to your due diligence. Apologies, just checked the website and prices advertised are from 2012, including the 120 baht house wine. Many websites are left idle on the internet, I've never been lucky enough to own a business advertised on the internet either, maybe it's just something they put up and forgot about or maybe their IT guy moved on and no one there knew how to remove or update it. Anyway if it were me who made the mistake, I would just take it as one of lifes many lessons, I certainly wouldn't bother starting up a thread to report my misfortune.
August 10, 20205 yr websites are more often than not, out of date here, it's a Thai thing. Also quite poor, Decathlon Thailand for example has a rubbish search, UK version is good

I agree.....If you dont ask the price or see a menu then the fault is yours....Hooters would have a short good special then leave it on the internet for months on purpose just to get people in......I am pretty sure this was not the case with the Beer Garden....
August 11, 20205 yr Should have showed the manager the advertised price. By the way, how was the wine? Sugar water or the real vino?

Not having a smart phone it would have been difficult to take my computer there. The wine, I've drunk better for less, But it wasn't bad.
August 11, 20205 yr Author Popular Post The whole point of the internet is information and communication. If it cant get the information right what is the point of it. I've had this before with Booking.com. Their information about their hotels (especially swimming pools and restaurants) has upset me before. So now when I book a new hotel I double check on the facilities.

(sunset time) and all the waterside tables were full. Most seemed to be having meals so they are at least getting some business. Their food has always been dependable; not great but not bad for the price and location.

August 11, 20205 yr I have been twice in decades and simply will never go back. Absolutely dreadful and with food prices that were farcical. Tapes of Abba music dont cut the mustard Avoid a simply awful place

If you want a stare down sit at the bar and eat if it is not crowded. I do think the food is decent but the last 2 times I went the two female bar staff stood 6 feet away from me, with their arms crossed, wide eyed and watched every bite I took. I just assume they must have been very hungry. ????

How about using it to get customers in under false pretenses, as there is little they can do about it after they have ordered and consumed.

Pity that, having that stated poor experience with hotels, you neglected to similarly 'double check' the PBG prices on their web page before you ordered the wine.

I got used to the Thai bars/nightclubs where you filled a table with food, bought a whiskey set with 4/6 glasses and the girls came and grazed while chatting to you and working the other tables.

Didn't look like they'd been putting in the hard yards on the family rice paddy up country during lockdown.

This younger lot have never worked the fields so when they go home they won't do it so they must just lounge around all day eating sticky rice

And from their posts, they are most definitely not lounging around eating sticky rice.
