Yeah it certainly looks like big changes as the decisions of battery vehicles come into play.

I still have my petrol guzzling 900cc plastic rocket so it don't bother me let the next and younger generations deal with it is how I think. ????????

Why would I have to do that when they can see I've already have proof that I've been riding big bikes in Thailand for 15 years.

Peugeot have taken over the Chevy factory it seems. They are now selling the 3008 and 5008 SUV's. The rather desirable 3008 starts at a little over 1.5m.

You mean they intend to add to the 100 cars they ever sold in Thailand ?  ????????

Yes, I was surprised at this turn of events too. Even if it's just 2 SUV's they are selling now, the Thai market could do with the freshness that Peugeot are bringing to the stale Thai market.

The big manufacturers need to switch on to producing EVs before they are left behind in the race. The Chinese are way ahead in the game and will take market share in the future...

Chev car/pickup is rubbish.

Chev have terrible service, long time fix simple job. Famous for terrible. I think problem is USA manager stupid.

Nissan quite good. Good service. Japan manager clever. Japan is number one foreign companys in Thailand.

UK car, eg Jaguar, MG look good, expensive. But broken easy. Is rubbish. Benz, BMW, Audi expensive same, but good quality/strong.

Toyota best car, easy, cheap and strong.

Mitsu best air condition.

Honda quite good.

ThaiRung so so.

Thailand start to make EV. Will be good.

thailand number 1 in SEA. Win again.

Thailand has been a stronghold for automobile manufacturing for decades. It nicknamed itself "the Detroit of Asia," and the moniker stuck, with good reason. It's currently the 12th most industrious auto manufacturer in the world, and the largest in Southeast Asia.

Japanese makers like Toyota and Mitsubishi have had operations in Thailand since the 1960s. GM, Ford, Mercedes and BMW all followed.

Thailand provides cheap labour for foreign automobile makers, it is the hub of assembling.

What is the name of the Thai EV manufacturer, or do you mean it will assemble EV's for foreign companies....?

Oh, and what cars have you owned to come to your conclusion, or are you in the motor trade. ?

I totally agree, it would be good news if Peugot distribute their cars in Thailand more widely, Peugot make some fantastic cars.

Much better than most Toyota cars. But then pretty much every European car is better than a Toyota.

Hmmm.

Same UK.

Aston Martin  make the Cygnis now joint owned by Kuwait and Italian investment firms.

Bentley motor company is now owned by Germany.

Honda have been making cars at their Swindon factory since 1992. For Japanese boss.

Land Rover, together with Jaguar, is owned by India

Mini – Unfortunately the iconic British car is no longer British-owned. German boss.

MG China boss.

Nissan Japan boss.

Rolls Royce Germany boss.

Morgan – The only entirely British-owned and British-made car company. Only a few hundred cars are made every year at their factory.

ThaiRung make more 1000 every year at their factory.
