He was tested when he went to prison... it's not only the 34 fellow prison Thailand has to worry about.

The person was infected outside.  So there is at least 1 other positive case walking in public... and how did that person get infected? 

Just think about that. 

 

You can't just have only 1 case.. 2 is the minimum

That simply isn't possible. He got infected from someone, who likewise had gotten infected from someone first.

 

It's the first detected (!) case of locally transmitted COVID-19 in over 100 days. One wonders how many undetected cases there might be.

5 days later no change, so she went to the local hospital, they gave her another bag of pills and said rest at home.

Given the already-huge and growing pressure to reopen the country to tourists (and scrap the state of emergency), the PM must be welcoming this news with open arms as it makes his life sooooo much easier. Now he can simply tell the tourism minister and the industry leaders that he's ever so sorry, but the country must focus on making itself covid-free again and cannot risk importing yet more cases from abroad. The state of emergency will remain at least until the end of the year, and the PM will sleep soundly. It sounds too good to be true, doesn't it? 

Maybe wise to go to the upcountry relatives, especially if they live near a porous border. 

Shouldn't future inmates not being tested, PRIOR to sharing to a cell with 34 others ?

Quite a few workers crossing into Thailand illegally from Myanmar have tested positive. These workers are in places like this guy was working. 

I amazed there has not been a pandemic in the prisons or is someone telling pork pies?

I am quite sure there wouldnt be enough solitary confinement, one person cells, to put all newly arriving prisoners in, until they have been tested and cleared of the virus

Thank you.....it's been like this from day 1.

I know of at least 6 people that have had 'flu' symptoms.....exactly the same response....no test done, sat at home to wait it out. The latest incident was a friend 2 weeks ago. Anyone who believes Thailand is covid free is deluding themselves. Don't forget 95% of all cases only exhibit 'mild flu symptoms'....it's been in circulation here since January if not before.
