vandeventer
Why don't we start slowly, say open some of the borders first? I still think if we open with a large amount of people first that maybe a bridge too far. Open up slowly, a amount you can control without killing all us old folk off. Remember Thailand has not seen covid 19 like other countries.

The fantastic job Thailand has done, and the fear it has driven into the population is going to make it very challenging to open the no quarantine floodgates, but it will happen. Just look at that Egyptian soldier fiasco...and that was 1 case. When 100 cases start showing up every day, will be the real test. Shut her down, or earn to live with it? Anyway, Trump and his wife have it...so there is always that... "Shut her down, or earn to live with it?" Deliberate typo? If that was the case then why didnt it rip through Thailand before when Wuhan people were visiting until mid March, almost 4 months after the first case in Wuhan. The virus is burning out. UK numbers are going up but deaths and hospitalization are down. Sweden didnt have a lockdown and they are through it. Wear a mask, wash your hands and dont get too close to people. Its not the black death. There was a TB outbreak in 2015 and 1.5 million people died. Anybody remember that? No cause it wasnt rammed down your throat everyday. Chivas
So say 100,000 a month (not that he did lol) amounting to 1.2 million a year which equates to just 3% of tourism arrivals in 2019 Can they not see through their rose tinted googles its a drop in the Andaman sea They need to make that 1 million arrivals a month to revive the tourism sectors

dlclark97
Not in favor of blanket opening and elimination of quarantine. Everyday TV articles relate new cases of Covid found in persons in quarantine. Just think if all of these cases had NOT quarantined and how many would/could be/have been infected by them. 1

Open the floodgates and they'll come, but this will depend on the state of the economy back home, restrictions faced upon returning home and their personal financial situation.

Positive test does NOT equal infectuous spreader. The media did a Grand Job of implying that connection and people accepted it without further thinking. On top of that (I keep repeating myself): - The test are highly inaccurate > the former Chief Scientist of Pfizer has publicly stated that more than half - and possibly as good as ALL - positive tests are false. Let that sink in... - A positive test does not distinguish between a person that was infected weeks/months ago and recovered (often without not even knowing that he had been infected) and someone that is infectuous for other persons > obviously the ratio infected and recovered versus infectuous is very high (i.o.w. no risk whatsoever).

Popular Post ronaldo0
Something about the Thai numbers is making me think they aren’t true . My wife was at one of the major government hospitals in Khon Kaen yesterday as her father is very ill . She sent me a couple of pics and said the hospital was rammed full of people. Her father who has diabetes type symptoms , liver and kidney problems and whose heart stopped on the way to the hospital cant even get a place in a ward . He is on a bed similar to others who are there sick and they are all in the corridors as there is no space for them. Never having been in one of the government hospitals I don’t know if this is normal or are there suddenly a lot of sick people in the country ? She couldn’t believe how packed the whole hospital was everywhere she went . 4
Popular Post spidermike007
A simple plan. A non antigen test 72 hours before the flight. And Thailand ups their game, and invests in some modern technology, and provides on the spot antigen testing at Suvarnabhumi or elsewhere. It is easy. You pass two different tests, using two different methodologies, and you are covid free. Welcome. No health insurance required. No groveling at a consulate. No quarantine. Welcome to Thailand. Have a great trip. And thanks so much for bringing a bundle of cash. Our people really need it. No panic. No fear mongering. Double testing. You are safe. We are safe. Life is good. raccos21
These tourists are coming here to spend money. If they need to do insane paperworks and go to through ridiculous requirements (like wrist bands, gps track, implant chips, etc.) before and after they get here. Probably there will be no more tourists here.
