I don't see any evidence of preferential treatment for Chinese though. The Chinese that were supposed to arrive in Phuket on STV visas the other day have already been shafted.

 

I think if anything, the government might be trying to clear the country of ALL foreigners, or at least all foreigners that aren't super rich, who don't give a <deleted> about a third world country like Thailand to begin with.

The UK government should be making it mandatory for Thais to show a bank balance of 1 million Pounds, but as usual they just allow them to waltz in without so much as quarantine. 

 

I am stunned that western governments are so gullible. They should be demanding reciprocity. If I were the UK Home Minister, I'd be quarantining Thais at the Ritz Carlton and charging 3000 Pounds a night. They would need a Certificate of Entry, a private plane, 5 Covid tests, a series of flu and rabies shots, and to wear a face mask and face shield at all times during their 28 day quarantine. Just to be fair.

I knew a very wealthy and considered Hi-so Thai who has property in London. When I argued the fact that she can buy land and houses in my country of birth and I can't in hers. she replied that it was the UK people and the Governments stupidity for allowing it. Maybe she has a point. It did show the blatant disregard that many Hi-so Thais have in many ways for others, than themselves. 

 

I also remember when the Thai women was mugged in London and she commented how that would never happen in Bangkok. Delusional and xenophobic but you will get that and need to expect it.

How about the children of the foreign property owners? We should also be granted entry.  This should be classed a special case!

 

My father Is a 70 year old German living in Bangkok. I’ve tried many times to get in-touch with the Royal Thai General Consulate in Hong Kong for a Entry request to the kingdom of Thailand. They don’t even respond to your emails. On the fone they give you a thousand excuses, yet no names for identification or reference and will push you to apply for an STV visa. 
 

 

“In-case they didn’t get it clear ! I’m not requesting for entry to go on a holiday! I’m requesting for a Emergency entry permit and repatriation flight because I’ve got to help a sick family member! “ 

 

 

As I am based in macau and most consulates are based in Hong Kong, 

it is hard to get in-touch with the necessary officials.

I have the 3 million easy but there is no way and under most all circumstances would bring it here for this regime to use. 1 million is already enough plus their 400,000 mandatory for my type of visa. I have over 7 million solid property and things bought here already. Seems the Regime and Uppity Elite in office are far worse than the Thai bargirls taking a guy for a ride because the buffalo died.

Errr Ummm. You don't get the long stay visa? It is an additional slap and spit into the face for most who have already qualified and whom have purchased property here. If I want the O-X then I would have to put up the 3 million as those is them rules for that. These bozos are making it up as they go. Lets call it selective discrimination.
