Popular Post Proboscis
The article is rather reticent in its coverage of Trumps wrongdoing. All it covers is the taxes and the over/under-valuation of assets which could be fraudulent along with one sexual assault. I think to date there have been 28 assaults of a sexual nature, from forcible kissing to groping to sex. Perhaps after January the police in the jurisdictions where the assaults took place will take up the cases. There is also the matter of campaign violations, including the payoff to two porn-stars. And that is before you get to the Mueller Report - no it did not exonerate him but it did not put him in front of a grand jury either because you cannot indict a sitting President. Perhaps that should be tried now.

Either everyone is treated the same or it is not a republic with rule by law. Yes, all situations are precedent: DT did it without recrimination, so why now? Every conman with the brass will take a shot at the presidency. Right now Pompeo thinks he's going to emerge from this smelling like a rose and run for the WH in 2024. Supposedly why they didn't go after Nixon after he resigned was that it would make the Office of the President look bad. Too late for that one in this case! They should go after every deal these clowns pursued, full transparency, each getting their due. There has been so many we can't remember them all over the past four years: Zinke, Pruitt, et al. Biden should put someone like Eric Holder in charge of neutering the rats. No need to charge DT, at least not right off but close to the end of statute of limitations. Go after the individuals, let them spill, rat, cower etc while DT sweats bullets waiting for the axe to fall. Will he run off? He won't do suicide, he doesn't have the guts. He may quit before year's end if Pence agrees to do a plenary pardon, and Mikey becomes 46, or rather 45.2 I wouldn't be surprised if some civil cases appeared, e.g. the families of people who died of Covid filing wrongful death suits because relatives followed his ridiculous advice. That $400+ million is just the present debts, wait until the legal bills start piling in -- "advance payment only Mister Trump."

JKfarang
Lots of discussion about Trump resigning so he can be pardoned by Pence. How can a person be pardoned for crimes that they have not yet been convicted of committing? Just asking as I am no fan of Trump and would be very happy to see him, his children and son-in-law in jail.

Popular Post spidermike007
17 of his businesses have failed in the past few decades. Some at huge losses. Trump Steaks, Trump Shuttle Airline ($120 million in losses between 1988 and 1990), GoTrump, Trump Vodka, Trump Mortgage, Trump University, Trump Ice, The New Jersey Generals, Tour de Trump, Trump Network, Trump Magazine, Trumped!. Many businesses that licensed his name went bankrupt, or went out of business. And he had between four and six major bankruptcies (depending on the source), including the Trump Taj Mahal (which he spent $1.2 billion building, and was $3 billion in debt within a year of opening), Trump's Castle, Trump Place Hotel (which was very successful prior to Trump buying it in 1988, and he managed to put it into $550 million in debt by 1992!), Trump Hotels and Casinos Resorts ($1.8 billion in debt by 2004, bankrupt in 2009) , and Trump Entertainment Resorts. There are likely others. And this does not take into account the 3,600 lawsuits he was involved in as of the time he took office, the vast majority of which were filed by small contractors against his companies for non payment, or total default. Many of these contractors were crushed. It is part of his M.O. Nearly anything with his name on it, and his association with it, fails. And that will be even more so, after he loses the November 3rd election. His name will remain radioactive, the the rest of his life, and the mini empire will continue to dwindle. During the period from 1985 to 1989, three years of which were boom year in NY real estate, he somehow managed to lose $359 million. Between 1990 and 1991 he lost $517 million. And between 1992 and 1995 he again managed to lose $286 million. The real irony of his whole persona, is that he cannot negotiate his way out of a paper bag, much less negotiate a treaty with an adversary, which makes him very dangerous. There is a very good chance his tax returns will reveal massive bank fraud. And he could be facing prison time, once he is ingloriously ushered out of the White House in January (possible by US Marshalls, should he resist). He may end up fleeing the country, and live in exile, with his buddy Vlad in Russia (if Russia would have him), in Dubai, or in Montenegro.
