Trying to get this translated. It is from a Chiang Rai news site.

Apparently she is friends with the case in Chiang Mai.  They both were apparently prior in Myanmar

Assuming most of the Myanmar national want to come to work in Thailand

due to the better wages they can hope here, i wonder in what sort of work 2 young

Thai girls can be employed in Myanmar that gives to them a better wage than in Thailand

mmmmmmmm?

I take it that's a rhetorical question.

Does it matter? He still can't afford it.

What I can understand is that she is a friend of the girl in Chiang Mai and was also working is Burma and also got COVID-19 there.

16-22 - she had various symptoms, felt feverish but could not take her temperature.  took some paracetamol (what else do they take here!)

23-24 - still working in Burma felt better.

26-28 - travelled back to Thailand and home bypassing state quarantine (like her friend)  stayed at the Mai Sai Inn. She had no symptoms.

28     -  discovered her friend in Chiang Mai had been diagnosed with COVID-19. Went by rented motorcycle to Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai where she was tested for COVID-19. They decided to admit her due to her case and previous symptoms.

29 test for COVID-19 came back positive. Now being treated as a COVID-19 patient.

One does wonder how many have been sneaking in and how often.

If any clusters result from these two women and the 326 contacts identified so far, we should hear about them over the coming week to ten days. The first one in Chiang Mai had symptoms as far back on 23rd in Myanmar before coming home. Since cross-infection is all about viral load and shedding, I recall reading that around five days after onset seems to be the peak and it is negligible after eight to ten days.

So far the track and trace system appears to have identified "...326 people had been in contact with the patient, of which 105 are in a high-risk group. They include those in the patient's condominium, her friend's condominium, the shopping mall, the entertainment venue and those in the vehicles in which she travelled. Through the transport vehicles, 35 people in the van and bus and 5 Grab car drivers were at risk. ..."

Yes, unlike Thai 'croupiers' at Myanmar's border casinos that are obviously already on a BOGOF offer.

Not sure that question can be reliably answered.  But if Thailand weren't approximately 90th in testing per capita you might have a clearer picture of the effects of those sneaking in.

Very cryptic, perhaps you could explain who or what a BOGOF is by PM.

Despite the obviously porous nature of parts of the Burmese border and these idiots being undetected until their fellow FB'ers turned them in, once identified, the authorities have acted very swiftly including stopping the bus and apprehending two. It's high profile now and I reckon the Thai authorities are all over this including a few people being shunted to inactive posts.

It seems like people are getting worried about that area up north. I just wrote that a friend is avoiding going home there for new year this year due to the present news.
