'It'll be Lonely This Christmas'...Mud.    Especially for those Families that have their Man stuck in some far off Land thanks to Covid Paranoia in Thailand !

I was gonna mention the same song.

So, what’s the song that, when you hear it, gets you in the festive mood? The one that gets you up to dance at a party, or ready to eat too much, or makes you look forward to spending quality time with friends and/or family?

Sir Cliff Richard.

Someone's already bagged The Pogues' Fairytale of New York so I'll go with Jona Lewie, Stop the Cavalry. Here's some eye candy, just for the sake of it:

A few days ago, I revealed that two such songs for me are It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year by Andy Williams and Driving Home for Christmas by Chris Rea. But there are many others that spring to mind without needing to look them up.

I could have named John Lennon’s Happy Xmas, War is Over; Slade’s Merry Christmas Everybody; Maria Carey’s I Don’t Want a Lot for Christmas (though my favourite version is featured below); Wizzard’s I Wish it Could be Christmas Every Day; Band Aid’s Do They Know it’s Christmas?; George Michael’s Last Christmas; Nat King Cole’s The Christmas Song; and last, but by no means least White Christmas by Bing Crosby. I’m sure you could name many more.

Entirely agree. The best ever. The Pogues and the lovely Kirsty MacColl.

Celebrating the birth of an invisble friend for adults never appealed to me. Even less when it became just a commercial opportunity to exploit in everyway possible.

"What happened" I here you say, simple, I grew up!

Bah humbug!

Last Christmas by Wham.

Has it all, happy easy to hum music and a warning not to trust the fairer sex. Had I done less humming and more listening I might never have got married- win win.

Favourite Christmas song VDO is Christmas Is All Around
Performed by Bill Nighy.
