Perhaps on best advice Trump was made aware of the possibility he  may be a defendant in an appeal in front of the SCOTUS at some  no so distant point of time?

Good one.

Well, IMO you are correct that if the senate remains GOP majority, Biden is in for a hard time ????.

IMO it will be the USA overall having a hard time  if the GOP retains their strangle hold. However they will have to be squeaky clean in the process unlike  as  have been.

The 6-3 decision is misleading.

3 'dissented' only to the court decision not issuing a fully written decision to block the lawsuit.

To wit: the 3 USSC judges said in a statement accompanying the order that if the case was allowed to be filed, they would grant NO OTHER RELIEF. In effect USSC had a 100% consensus to deny the lawsuit.

So much for Trump's and Republican Senators scheme to re-elect if necessary Trump through the USSC based on loyalty to Trump and his political party in judges nominations and selection. Trump asked the Court to make the correct constitutional decision and it did.

Actually it was 7 to 2. And of course the Supreme Court justices couldn't stop or postpone the electoral tally of the 4 states in question since the Constitution specifically says all the states have to do it on the same day. It just shows how dishonest are the news sources that Trump supporters rely on that this fact seems never to have been mentioned. At least, those posting here in the belief that the Supreme Court would back Trump never even mentioned it.

Yep.... he does.

1. He can skulk away in the dark of night to his chosen Trumpistan haven like the loser he is.

or

2. He can wait for the Secret Service, et. al. to come along and chuck him out of the White House and onto the sidewalk, hopefully near Washington DC's Black Lives Matter Plaza.

He could be a little, red, full stop (period) at the end.

poor guy he is really trying eh.

I believe the term you're looking for regarding Trump's election nullifying efforts is:

Sedition

Sedition is overt conduct, such as speech and organisation, that tends toward rebellion against the established order. Sedition often includes subversion of a constitution and incitement of discontent toward, or rebellion against, established authority.

Although the federal criminal statute makes "by force" a necessary element

https://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-charges/sedition.html

Sedition is a serious felony punishable by fines and up to 20 years in prison and it refers to the act of inciting revolt or violence against a lawful authority with the goal of destroying or overthrowing it.

According to the statutory definition of sedition, it is a crime for two or more people within the jurisdiction of the United States:

  • To conspire to overthrow or destroy by force the government of the United States or to level war against them;

  • To oppose by force the authority of the United States government; to prevent, hinder, or delay by force the execution of any law of the United States; or

  • To take, seize, or possess by force any property of the United States contrary to the authority thereof.

Options?

Fleeing to a country lacking an extradition treaty with the US?

He has exhausted all options. He's 1-56 in court. He just lost the highest court in the land.

Stick a fork in him; he's done.

He really ought to start preparing his many defenses. NY AG has him in her sights, and she has all the many years of tapes and documents from Michael Cohen, plus whatever NY got re Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell. His self-pardon, if he does, is unlikely to hold up in court. The Constitution is clear the US has no monarch, and anything that would allow him or any POTUS to pardon themselves for any crime (e.g., murder, treason) would create a monarch. The new Federal AG is likely to have many crimes to investigate, and a DoJ and FBI staff that doesn't exactly like the way 45 dealt with them probably would like to engage in a little genuine justice.

He is also under investigation in Scotland regarding his source of funding for Turnberry and other golf properties. If he cannot explain the funding, he is in violation of a Scottish law and they can seize all of his assets there.

He is likely to be considered a security threat, as is jared, since both (more jared) have tried to accumulate a lot of classified data which they may well try to sell. jared is also in trouble for his Qatar deal and he may well be charged with 'conspiracy to commit espionage' after his visit to the Russian Embassy in December 2016 where he tried to set up a secret back channel to Putin. Ambassador Kislyak was so excited by the prospect, that he dropped all opsec and used an open line to call Moscow.  Finally, jared is unaware that WhatsApp encryption is not secure, so if 'anyone' wanted to capture all of his WhatsApp messages to MbS, Qatar, Netanyahu, etc. (all of which are illegal, as all govt business must be carried out on govt systems and entered into the record), they did capture it. I would not loan jared money nor write an insurance policy on him now.

If 45 takes a chance and resigns, then he needs a pardon from pence. Pence wants to run in 2024, so getting 45 out of the way cuts the field of contenders down. Pence could promise a pardon, then play Lucy with the football, fooling Charlie Brown.

I suspect 45 will enter a downward spiral come 20 January from which escape is highly unlikely.

pretty bleak future for a former president.

i can't see him living in relative obscurity building homes for the homeless.

as a designated 'loser,' his fans will forget him, plans for his future media empire will collapse.

he can't run from the law forever.

there really isn't much left.

less really, with half a billion in debt coming due next year,

and the few banks that deal with him want to drop him.

sure hope his security detail is keeping a watch on him.

a suicide in the presidential bunker would not serve the country's interests.

This was nothing more than a spoiled narcissist and some desperate corrupt politicians seeking relief from the future consequences of their criminal activities, wasting the country's time and resources...and shame on the weak minded tribal members of this MAGA cult that support their actions over democracy and our republic.

It's over...you lost....the people have spoken....accept it and move on.

The people have spoken but the voice was only marginally stronger than that of the delusional sycophants who elected trump in 2016.

This is what troubles me so much. These misguided souls will not simply disappear in a few months. It's going to be very difficult to kill the cockroach within our populace. Even without a head they live on.

We have met the enemy and he is us. (Pogo).
