The first step in this process is to get Trump to leave the White House when his term ends.

Why fix something that's not broken?

P.S. Not sure if you are from the US or not, but states are in charge of voting.  Not the feds.

yes I know the states are in charge, see my post above, so they need to have a federal law to force the state to certain requirements for the voting process

the current voting system is broken for years, we had the same problem in 2000 with GW Bush, and it will happen again after this election

No, that was not the same problem. There was no problem this year, except someone shouting from the rooftops there was a problem, and too many people believing that, even though there is no evidence whatsoever,, and despite the persons responsible and the experts assuring everyone there was nothing wrong.

Ummm....let's see.  It worked out almost perfectly this year.  And now you want to change it?

As each day passes trump escalates the fact he is totally unfit for Office, yet he still has a month before his terms ends. One hopes there is a rapid response mechanism should he have a catastrophic psychological meltdown.

A federal law would not be constitutional.

What was wrong with the voting system this year?

Faked of course, or a faked heart attack or something similar    to save face.  Which is what the refusal to concede the election has always been about.

I just woke up to news that 45 is actually considering Martial Law to reverse the election results. THIS is the stuff of banana republics! 45 is stress testing US democracy every way he can.

Seems Trump just won't give up.  He's got a severe mental problem.  Stunning anyone in his inner circle puts up with this.

Though the campaign once distanced itself from Powell, Trump has been urging other people to fight like she has, according to multiple people familiar with his remarks. He has asked for more people making her arguments, which are often baseless and filled with conspiracy theories, on television.

No voter fraud conspiracy has been shown to date. A baseless set of accusations does not qualify redoing this election under armed guard unless they are willing to foot the bill of course.   It's a  certainty that it will also instigate an adverse reaction that might cause the defiance or death of law abiding American citizens. The burden of proof is on the accuser and the accuser has to date shown no proof whatsoever that would be sufficient to change the outcome of this election. There was however, a  legal conspiracy by 81 million free thinking Americans who willfully conspired to vote for Biden, the declared winner of the election . The losing candidate Trump and 74 million voters are refusing to accept  their  loss .  All of the 155+ million votes cast were by registered American voters. No voters have come forth to complain that their votes were switched or ditched. The claims that there were dead people who voted have been debunked.

Attorney General Barr Acknowledges Justice Dept. Has Found No Widespread Voter Fraud

Christopher Krebs was dismissed as director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, for stating that this was one of the most secure elections in history.

Recounts have matched paper ballots with electronic ballots.  Dozens of lawsuits have failed miserably. There's not going to be another election vote unless a valid reason magically presents itself . We're a month away from the beginning of  an inspiration and the end of an aberration in American politics. January 20th 2021 can't come soon enough .

There's a reason you separate military and the police. One fights the enemies of the state, the other serves and protects the people. When the military becomes both, then the enemies of the state tend to become the people.

Trump fires director of Homeland Security agency who had rejected President's election conspiracy theories

https://www.cnn.com/2020/11/17/politics/chris-krebs-fired-by-trump/index.html

Trump announced on Twitter he was firing Chris Krebs, the director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, and directly tied it to Krebs' statement that said there "is no evidence that any voting system deleted or lost votes, changed votes, or was in any way compromised."

Trump said in a tweet that also repeated other baseless conspiracy theories about the election and was flagged by Twitter as "disputed."

Trump’s legal team cried vote fraud, but courts found none

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — As they frantically searched for ways to salvage President Donald Trump’s failed reelection bid, his campaign pursued a dizzying game of legal hopscotch across six states that centered on the biggest prize of all: Pennsylvania.

The strategy may have played well in front of television cameras and on talk radio to Trump’s supporters. But it has proved a disaster in court, where judges uniformly rejected their claims of vote fraud and found the campaign’s legal work amateurish.

Paper ballots prove the election wasn’t hacked

https://www.heraldnet.com/opinion/comment-paper-ballots-prove-the-election-wasnt-hacked/

By Christopher Krebs / Special to The Washington Post

On Nov. 17, I was dismissed as director of the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency, a Senate-confirmed post, in a tweet from President Trump after my team and other election security experts rebutted claims of hacking in the 2020 election. On Monday, a lawyer for the president’s campaign plainly stated that I should be executed. I am not going to be intimidated by these threats from telling the truth to the American people.

81 million voters  spoke loudly and clearly with their votes . 74 million voters  seem to believe that their discontent is sufficient enough to change the results of this election without any tangible proof or evidence of wrong doing.

More of this should happen to keep Fox News from spewing lies and conspiracy theories.  Sadly, some aren't smart enough to know these are lies.

Now it's Newsmax! ????

“Newsmax has found no evidence that either Dominion or Smartmatic owns the other or has any business association with each other,” Tabacco said. “We have no evidence that Dominion uses Smartmatic’s software or vice versa. No evidence has been offered that Dominion or Smartmatic use software or reprogram software that manipulated votes in the 2020 election.”

Interesting how quickly Fox and NewsMax caved once challenged not even with actual lawsuits, but just threats of them.

But to me, the more interesting issue to watch will be what happens the next time Trump comes out publicly to spout some rubbish related to those two companies... How will Fox and NewsMax handle/report Trump's comments in the wake of their legal surrender.

45 has to spout his bizarre conspiracy theories and get in his slander before 20 January. Though the silly OLC opinion on the invulnerability of a sitting POTUS would probably not hold up in court, after 20 January there is no doubt he can be sued for slander.

What scared the bejesus out of fox, lou dobbs, newsmax and even oann should scare 45. The last thing he needs is yet another lawsuit, as he will have plenty to deal with.

I don't think Trump is worried too much on the ligitation front, considering how many zillions of times he's sued and been sued in his lifetime...

But more to the point, he's also got $200+ million of suckers' money sitting in his campaign accounts now and rising -- more than enough to defend/pay for anything that might come along.  And in all likelihood, whatever results in the end won't cost him a dime personally.

He's happily playing with suckers' money.

The president said ..., and mr. Trump states ...., without offering an opinion. They'll refrain from declaring the claims nonsense, and they'll refrain from declaring the claims justified. They'll let Trump do the talking.

Granted he's playing with sucker's money, but he is going to face some pretty skilled prosecutors who have been working on cases against him for quite some time. He seems to hire buffoons for his defense team, however.

As an analogy, my university football team could be the most gorgeous new uniforms, but if we play the Kansas City Chiefs, we're going to lose.

The two voting machine makers won't have any trouble proving harm, either to their business or from threats of violence against company officers. 45 might---a big might---be smart enough to know he might lose, so come 20 January he may well keep his mouth shut.

I think he has zero chance of escaping conviction in NY State for bank and insurance fraud, as Michael Cohen kept copious records and recordings over many years. Also, if he pardons his money man Alan Weisselberg, Weisselberg must cooperate with the NY AG, as that is the responsibility that comes with a pardon...no claiming the 5th.

Each day the odds increase 45 will do time.

Ya, my comments about Trump playing with suckers money to avoid any personal financial liability were just in regards to the voting tech company issues...

I wasn't commenting on Trump's potential liability in all the OTHER kinds of cases he might be facing in the future. But still, $200 million is enough to afford a lot of attorneys' fees and pay a lot of settlements using suckers' money.

From an engineers point of view, you don't need to fix something which isn't broken.
