Think what?

Quote

Mr and Mrs Somchai would not be allowed entry.

that's what you said.

Sorry but this is Thailand,  and all rules and regulations mean nothing.

Ok.  I see your point, but I would think authorities would enforce this one.

Perhaps they should have the Thai Army as security.  On second thoughts................  ????

Should they close all bars because of alcoholics?

Distraction.... like pointing at road deaths when discussing weapon control. Currently there are no casinos to close except the ones that should be.

If the vulnerable are not allowed entry, what are the negatives?  Will gambling lead to prostitution in Pattaya?

Who says the vulnerable will not be allowed entry... are alcoholics stopped from entering bars or welcomed?

Why would they enforce this and not others?

Pure speculation.

Is not a 1 ton piece of metal, moving at 100kms or more, a weapon?

Correct.

It's the illegal casinos causing social harm to Thai's and feeding corruption.

The Vietnam model does.

Why is alcohol different to gambling?  Addiction is addiction.  Why do you see one as acceptable, but not the other?  If one is allowed, why not the other, or none at all?

Why wouldn't they / couldn't they?

Pure speculation by you that they are incapable of doing so.

Answer the question instead of diverting it.

I will not do that....

Alcohol addition is not more acceptable in it's worst form, why do you presume I think it is? I am not responsible for making laws, I can only say that when alcohol was made illegal, the resulting situation was very negative. It created more crime and problems than it resolved,. I see no need for the distraction...the subject is gambling not alcohol. Thailand fares well without a legalized system. We do not need these bloodsuckers. I am not familiar with Vietnam.... except there they spread the coronavirus and that it is discriminatory.

I've answered the question, several times.

The Vietnam model appears to work fine.  Now, if Thailand is not up to the task of implementing the same model, then that says more about Thailand, than it does about the casino entry model that exists in Vietnam.

If you are not familiar with Vietnam, how can you comment that the system in place there would not / could not work here?

I have no idea what you are talking about when you say Vietnam spreads the coronavirus.  Vietnam was one of the first to shut its borders and is among the top countries for Covid control.

The Vietnamese casinos were responsible for coronavirus and some were shut down.

absolutely not. its devasting that gamble addicts loose their whole money from their family and ruin themselves financially and their families.

casinos simply are harmful to society, they just dont bring any benefits.

Is Thailand not currently under a similar form of government?

Thai gamblers and hookers returning from Burma were responsible for a huge outbreak here.

Imaging if they didn't have to travel to Burma to gamble.

Do you have a link for the Vietnam casino outbreak?  Not doubting you, it's possible, I just didn't read about it.

And what of the thousands of illegal casinos all across Thailand?

Just Google, it came up in an article about them reopening after being closed due to Covid, along with an article about locals being allowed into some casinos.

The way I read it, it was mostly Thai female (hookers) returning. Since that is readliy available in Thailand, and not Burma, it seems to support the opposite argument.

Would you call it a democracy here?

That is a different question, you associated it with a communist country. I would say closer to China than Thailand.

I've been to Myanmar.  It's readily available, but I am not sure about inside the casino.

I did read it was some returning Thai hookers and Thai gamblers that bought it in with them.

Quite ironic that both Communist countries, China and Vietnam, have casinos, but Thailand, a so called democratic country, does not.  ????

Ironic... one word for it. Communism is not a direction I want to take.

Thailand's last election wasn't exactly a shining light for democracy, was it?  ????

Vietnam on a par with China... hardly an attractive stance for tourism.
