Don't believe in free speech and do believe in censorship then? Who are going to be the censors? The woke left perhaps?

They fell for the lies by Trump and his enablers, amplified by right wing media outlets.  Easy.  But not very smart people to think this.  That's been proven.  Other than the politicians who are using this fake news for political gain.  Taking advantage of a susceptible group.

Given their willingness to embrace obvious lies and chicanery, there's nothing to wonder about at all. Trump actually launched an appeal for funds to support the legal campaign to overturn the election. Turns out only that part of a donation that was in excess of ,$8000 would be used for that purpose. And his supporters in this forum actually defended him!

It is about intentionally false statements. Calling Covid pandemic a hoax, saying voting machines were programmed to exclude votes, that  election officials dumped ballots etc. I recall the claims of the imagined secret cyber watermarking of ballots that would be exposed. How about when people like Alex Jones call Sandy Hook massacre of  children a hoax and when exposed say it is just an act for business? What about the false claims that President Obama was not a US national? No one takes responsibility/ ownership for their words. The example is Trump who incites violence and then says, not my fault and throws everyone away?

Still early stage of denial. Give them time to grief. They will come around very soon like the QAnon, Proud Boys and even Joe Exotic. Meanwhile on a happier note, majority of Americans contend with Joe Biden’s conduct and his choice of top administrators in just 2 days in office.

Actually, it looks like most Qanon members are not coming around. Can't link now but reports to that effect are easily searchable.

It certainly can't because of credible evidence.  There isn't any.

There will always be the hard cores. As long as they are now in disarrayed with some proclaiming that they are denouncing their beliefs and their most visible icon Ron Watkins telling supporters to “go back to our lives”, the movement has taken some serious body blows.

If they want unity, they need to drop the "all Trump supporters are literal Nazis and deserve to be physically assaulted" <deleted>.  There are left-wingers who are talking about making lists of anyone who cooperated with Trump and punishing them in some way.  It's insane.

Trump got nearly half the votes.  Around 75 million people.  Not all conservatives are Trump supporters, obviously very few Trump supporters are actually White Nationalists or Nazis, but they're still trying to paint them all with a very broad brush, and this appears to come from a very angry and hateful place.

The way they are talking, you would think those 75 million Americans were all in the Capitol Building, rather than just a few nut cases.

There's way too much hatred and anger coming from the left for any sort of unity to emerge.  They would have to accept that the people they are trying to call out are a tiny minority, but that simply isn't part of their narrative.

Who says that?  I'd like to see the link to that quote.  Please post it here.

It takes two to tango and doesn't look like you even want unity.  To start, how about getting GOP members in congress to say they are against white nationalists?  Trump supported them strongly, as you know.

The anger isn't coming from the left.  It's coming from the right.  Change your source for news and you'll find that out.

Just watched a news program covering the most loyal GOP country in the nation.  Somewhere in Texas, where some 96% voted for Trump.

The interviews were very interesting with many saying they'll give Biden a chance.  That's 100% opposite of some of the ones here who still just try to bash the left, and bash Biden.  Sad times in the US.

I am afraid Sir that you got that upside down and quite the contrary. Trump basked in right-wing populism, positioned himself with incendiary political language, insulting and demeaning rhetoric. His mocking and insulting rhetoric was widely described as both norm breaking and divisive. His allies GOPs followed him with the insulting rhetoric and incendiary languages. Trump’s supporters answered his call for a “wild” demonstration which culminate with the violent and deadly attack on Capitol Hill.

Where did he say that?  Answer: nowhere.  You are misquoting him.

There it is  The misinformation and lies. You can't debate with such insanity. What is the cure? I don't know. Clearly for many such people there is no cure. But I did hear one idea that sounds kind of promising for a portion of them. Joe Biden doing a great job and showing some successes.  We don't need all trump fans to be on board to move forward but we do need progress away from the dark pit of Trump inspired alternative reality.

Just report the post....hard to debate with people like this.

The guy's out of office.  He can do no more harm.  The only way he gets back into office is for the majority of American people to invite him back.  Basically, congress is giving the finger to the American voters and telling them they don't trust us with the vote.

Quick...   If you were a senator considering a run for the big office in 2024, what could you do right now that would guaranty you'll have less competition in 4 years?  You don't figure there's any conflict of interest?

So no need to trial criminals anymore then? What a load of BS excuses.

In a similar vein an even larger number of Democrats believe the opposite. In a democratic country the majority of votes/voters believe that the majority vote wins.

Not true at all.  It was a very tiny minority of Trump supporters.  To say "Trump supporters did X" is talking about all Trump supporters generally.  If he said "a Tiny minority of Trump supports" or "the people that rioted at the Capitol Building, all Trump supporters..." it would have been fine.

Thanks for proving my point by being happy with a clearly prejudice overgeneralisation.

Of course you don't.  You're biased and cannot see what you are doing.  I'm sure if you realised, you might not be doing it.

I hope that at some point the left manages to clear their hearts of the hatred they feel for anyone who disagrees with them, realises they don't have the moral high-ground, and starts to rebuild themselves.

What's the point?  You know where it is.  You're simply being obtuse because you don't like it.

Thanks for helping to prove my point by showing that you don't even want to acknowledge what the problem is, let alone try to change for the better.

You do not want unity.  You only want to attack people.

And if I said, "I saw Trump supporters at a Trump rally" would that mean I had seen 75 million people at the rally? Your argument is ridiculous.
