PHUKET: Three men were injured when the pickup truck they were travelling in struck a roadside power pole about 50 metres south of the Tha Reua Chinese Shrine on Thepkrasattri Rd, in Srisoonthorn, last night (Jan 24).

Capt Somnuk Kaewpetch of the Thalang Police was called to the scene at about 10pm.

Police together with Srisoonthorn Municipality and Kusoldharm rescue workers arrived to find a black Toyota  Hilux Revo pickup truck, registered in Uttaradit, still wrapped around the power pole on the southbound side of the road.

So many of them could'nt drive to save themselves! If it was'nt a power pole to hit it would be a tree or a motorcycle!

I feel sure the power pole was not there last week , damn power poles appearing out of nowhere !

The pickup is all-electric. The power pole is part of the government plan to support EV sales in the Kingdom. Don't knock it when you can crash it. ????

"Power pole of the day".

Couldn't that be a generic pinned thread?

And this damned rain that makes slippery road. Yet again :whistling:

And we will never know the outcome of the drunk driving test.

Quality pole beats thin metal sheet.

Pickups, SUVs and now more powerful motorscooters/mototcycles are in the hands of maniacs, who have no business driving anything bigger than a bicycle with training wheels. And aside from those who are suppose to ensure roadway safety, there is the general public.

It's time for a crackdown on power poles! They are causing too many accidents. Not a week goes past before one leaps in front of a vehicle. It's becoming too much. Where are our police?

I now don't even bother wondering about in which street this sort of accident happens.

It's always the same one.

Like most of the quotes on theses threads when it happens.
