Lucky ice delivery man blames road racers at bend as he is nearly skewered by road sign

Sanook reported that 191 police were called to an accident on the Chao Sadet Road outbound from Yasothon on Sunday morning.

An Isuzu pick-up with no plates - adapted on the back to carry ice (frozen water) - had a bent cement road sign pierced through the windshield right next to the driver's head.

Waiting in shock in a shack at the scene was local delivery man Thawee, 31.

He said he was delivering his ice to the villages and was on his way to Kut Chum district when at the bend in the road there were two other pick-ups taking up the whole road coming in his direction.

He thought they were racing.

He swerved and hit the road sign saying that it came within a whisker of hitting him in the head.

Fortunately he was uninjured.

I did think... ‘wow, thats a lot of methamphetamine’ if it needs to be carried in the back of an adapted pickup !:giggle:

There's a tongue twister to be made out of this.

Typical isn't it. When a falang comes on the forum and tells his tale of Thais overtaking each other on bends, he gets lots of understanding and agreement.

When a Thai tells the same tale he gets castigated!

That seems a bit excessive sending so  many police to one accident! ????

Otis Redding song, right?

So the other trucks simply disappeared? Always try to graze the other vehicle that way he does get off scot-free.

Reminds me of something said to me many years ago when I first came here.

I was told there are two rules to remember in Thailand.

Rule No.1 "Thai's Lie"

Rule No.2 " They always Fxxxxxxx lie".

Which is just another version of the same thing!
