Worried that disruption from the latest COVID-19 outbreak will derail their futures, thousands of Mathayom 6 students are trying hard to have their university entrance exams postponed.

#Courtpetitionsforexampostponement is trending on Twitter after six students submitted a plea to the Central Administrative Court with the help of Pheu Thai Party spokeswoman Asst Prof Arunee Kasayanond on Wednesday (March 17).

The exams will get underway on Saturday – unless the court intervenes by Friday.

Not sure I get it.  I assume they have been mostly confined at home with plenty of time to study and prepare.

An excuse to blame for Thailand's poor educational standards.

Well, I hope the all remember to thank their cousins in China that they admire so much. Maybe China will help them.

It's a competitive world. Each university has a particular number of slots to fill. These slots will be filled, Covid or no Covid.

Could be worse......they could have had Williamson running the show........who would have thought a fireplace salesman might struggle to run the education system?

My son is in M6. There is foggy dates from the school about exams, asked him multiple times when placement tests will be... I am kind a shocked to learn some supposed to be tomorrow?

Even as of last night they were busy preparing for some dance/show for teachers ( right now seems parents aren't allowed to see), so what I see the priorities are once again properly lined up. Not!

OMG.......management are so stupid........demanding results, results, results all year......then in the run up to the exams....school trips.....school plays....sports day........rewards trips......dance shows.......

My school put out a document on how we could improve......'Marginal Gains'........I logged all the above trips and events and published it to the staff......I called it........ 'Marginal Losses'.............SLT were not happy.

I think one thing that is scaring some students is that the desks will be "social distanced"  to keep everyone safe.

Great timing.

Funny system here. The step daughter was accepted by three universities 2 months ago without any exams. Is this just to fill the vacancies.

I think that the acceptance will be conditional on gaining a pass grade in ONET / school exams.

One of the features of the first couple of weeks of the new academic year is always a number of last year's M6 students scrabbling around to get teachers to sign off "topics" and "subjects" which are demanded by the Universities. In practice, I don't think anyone fails.

In our school M6 and M3 graduated today. M3 don't take their end of year exams for another 10 days. I have been told that all my students must get a minimum grade of 2.5!

Nothing to do with money.
