A shocking incident occurred at the Thung Benja police station in Chanthaburi province, eastern Thailand on Saturday night.

A police captain argued with his wife before shooting her multiple times, chasing her to do so.

But she survived while he committed suicide.

Rescue services arrived at the station and found two people barely alive. Jintana Phohcharoen, 52, was lying motionless but still alive by a reporting desk.

Pol Capt Thanakorn Phohcharoen - the lady's husband was by the cells.

Jintana had been shot four times in the arm and body.

Thanakorn had used a 9mm pistol to shoot himself in the head.

They were both taken to Song Phee Nong Hospital where the policeman was pronounced dead.

His wife survived.

Pol Capt Eknakorn Awela said he was on duty by the cells when he heard the pair arguing outside and then 2 or 3 shots rang out.

Jintana fled inside the police station to get help but captain Thanakorn chased after her and shot her twice more by the cells.

Thinking her dead he turned the gun on himself.

Daily News reported that it was family troubles.

Just another case of a very unstable policeman shooting his spouse.

Just think men like him are armed and supposed to protect the public.

I don't know why the poor guy shot himself.

Probably couldn't face the prospect of being transfare to another division.

Thankfully he had better aim on himself!

Because he was just a typical fragile wimp! Good riddance, one less idiot with a gun in Thailand!

Colin, you and many others have been in Thailand long enough to know that protecting the public is not one of the RTPs primary tasks. It should be of course but not in Thailand.  Luckily the lady was not killed and hopefully she will survive. As for him, well , who cares as it is just another nutter in a uniform who is now out of harms way.

Self-enrich, that's it.

This is the third case of a policeman murdering his lover/wife in the last week or so in Thailand. What on earth is wrong with these people!!!??? Why can't they just walk away. Very sad.

Women. Can't live with 'em. Can't kill 'em!

Apparently you can in Thailand especially if you are a police officer

Good news , she survived , he didn't.

Being shot and 4  times, in this case she  will never  be  the same again.

A police uniform doesn't automatically make a person less human and thus less susceptible to the same stress and mental problems that pervade pretty much any country. Wasn't there a soldier who lost the plot in Korat last year and shot up a weekend shopping mall, killing 27 victims?

You can see these  unstable types everyday when you are  out driving, only tonight had one cretin inches from the bumper. The same types who  jump red  lights, cut the corner, jump the queue at lights to turn right, double  park etc.

I really don't see how you guys can stick around this loony bin any longer.

Yep and that was because of corruption  in the RTA to my recollection,  which of course has all gone away in a puff of smoke and mirrors.
