Phuket tightens rules for visitors to enter the province from tomorrow

Phuket Public Health Office has said that those who wish to enter the province must provide a vaccination certificate of two doses or a Covid-free certificate.

"The measure will be enforced from April 21 until 30,” said the announcement on its Facebook page on Monday. “The test for Covid-free certificate must be taken within 72 hours of entry into the province.

Those who do not have a certificate can take a rapid test at Phuket International Airport and Tha Chatchai border checkpoint, at a cost of Bt300 per person.”

The checkpoint at the airport will screen travellers from every province who wish to enter Phuket, while the Tha Chatchai checkpoint will screen only those who have travelled from 17 red zone provinces.

Covid spreading throughout the country after Songkran Holidays

New Covid-19 hot spots have been identified throughout the country after the Songkran holiday, a possible side effect of widespread traveling during the break, as the public health sector scramble to get the situation under control.

The current wave of the pandemic began in entertainment districts in the capital before spreading to the greater Bangkok Area. Bangkok has seen the largest number of cases by far with 3,615 cases [as of Monday] since the outbreak began.

Surrounding provinces including Nonthaburi and Samut Prakarn were directly impacted by the Bangkok cluster with both recording around 700 new cases since the month began.

Meanwhile, the government also reported Tuesday that new COVID cases linked to the original Bangkok entertainment venues outbreak had now spread to 71 of the country's 77 provinces.

The only provinces to not report such COVID cases thus far are Chainat, Pattani, Narathiwat, Yala, Satun and Ranong.

Earlier this month, the government reported that some types of new COVID cases had already spread to all 77 provinces in the country.

Could have very well been a 30 year old that went to buy Tom Yum soup in the market from an infected auntie that is not aware she is infected, but they had to scapegoat the entertainment industry a bit, with a younger person's death with no preconditions.

Yes, God bless the entertainment they are not responsible for any of this....................
