A Disturbing Covid Fact Revealed

And so the overall obvious evidence is that this pandemic is a reality in one sense or form.

To the deniers it is a hoax but a real one.

don't think anyone denies the severity of the virus, it's just the silly reactions of world leaders thinking they could beat this thing with "gel" for hands and lockdowns. Obviously they have failed. It never stopped the virus from spreading. And we still not entirely sure how it's spreading and why it's spreading so fast.

ah, you got me on that one !   good work.   I am thinking of seeking counseling ( you will probably miss the tongue in cheek once again )  to combat this involuntary shaking of my head that occurs at moments like this :

In fairness, before the emergence of the variants the data confirmed that it was rarely fatal for the young and healthy.

And their resultant disregard of social isolation and mask wearing in no small way contributed to the development of the variants.

speaking of moon landing and Apollo 11, there is a splendid documentary from never seen NASA footage that have been re-mastered in 4K, and are showing the landing and the activities on the moon on an angle never seen before.

Spectacular to watch, even to this day.

Yea it was so successful and such a grand achievement  that there has been no need to ever repeat it.....lol.....Stanley Kubrick called the moon landings one of mankind's greatest achievements...

people who are good drivers ,  smart drivers,  who understand the art of defensive driving, I would think have a much better success rate .... of not having an accident.

easy to agree on ?

I would think that living healthy would also enable most people to avoid serious health issues.     Like accidents,  that does not mean it is foolproof.     ( and even though i feel like walking up to every sick looking person i see and calling them a fool ..... i  figure its up to them .)

That's called dissembling. Covidiot did not merely say that most healthy people can avoid serious illness by having a healthy immune system; he asserted something more concrete: that humans are only susceptible to viruses when their immune system is "weak." I'm interested to know whether people who hold such views also believe the corollary: that someone with a healthy immune system is impervious to viruses.

I'm not entirely sure that chub porn is allowed here.

I didn't say impervious. But I rarely get sick in winter anymore since I educated myself about diet and watch what I eat. I used to have to take a dose of antiobiotics practically every winter growing up.

In my opinion, when the media reports a story with the following headline:

"Obese people with a pre-existing condition of diabetes are at greater risk of Covid" ...

-->  what they are doing is trying to implant a subliminal message in your brain to take better care of your health.

well, that's a first.......usually you are 100% sure of what you post.    hahaha   but, in the spirit

of "getting through these tough times"  I will assume that you are being humorous .

that would be good !   humor , as i have said before,  is the best medicine.  i hope my assumption does not come back to bite me in my **s.

I suggest that you do your research, then post the references that support your findings.

I'm not a scientist.

I'm looking at it from a more "philosophical" perspective.

Edit: I love synchronicity!

5 minutes after I posted this, Thaivisa posted an article about dietary changes in Thailand since the pandemic. That's precisely the point I was trying to make.

70.94% of people said they had given more thought to what food they would than they did before the outbreak of the virus.

What is lunacy, as I see it, is people on here playing ping pong with statistics 24/7 and think they know the precise risk of catching covid within 6 decimal points.

But before this turns into a mud-slinging contest, I shall bow out.

And we shall agree to disagree then.

1918 was well documented, and everything I've read about it said that it affected young people. Also, there were not as many old people back then as now.

It's my understanding that 65 was set as pension age as it was when many died shortly after. I doubt they envisaged people routinely living till 80s.

Apples and bowling balls.

Covid is like a forest fire.

Sometimes forest fires are necessary.

Overpopulation, living in crowded unhealthy cities, living sedentary lifestyles and eating bad food can't have helped with our resistance to this disease.

IMO if it wasn't this one, it would have been another.

And the point I am making is people are focusing too much on the statistics.

Meanwhile the Thais, with their alleged low levels of education, are not caught up in the statistics and doing something practical.

They are making an effort to eat a more health conscious diet, which protects from viruses and illness in general.

It was implied in the hordes of covid articles that you've been reading over the past year.

You missed the nuance.

You're focusing on useless (if credible) statistics.

What are you planning to do with all these useless statistics?

You failed the exam.

Was it not the statistics that informed them of the potential benefits of a healthier diet?.......or did they they just come up with that from blue sky thinking?

You didn't have to say that; what you did say has the same meaning. I hear what you say about the benefits of good health, but I never took issue with that, so I don't know why you are repeating it. My only point all along has been that it's not true to say that the only reason humans are susceptible to viruses is that they didn't do all they could have done to maintain good health. Some pathogens are dangerous to people who are in the best possible health. It might be disappointing, but it's an empirical fact.
