Popular Post jvs
A few weeks ago i received a friend request on facebook, nothing really strange about that as i get many requests. Looked at the picture and it appeared to be a nice looking lady. I checked out her page and decided,"why not?Have some fun!!!" The poor girl has a lot of problems, she is in Nigeria at the moment waiting for the inheritance her departed dad left her. So sad! On the upside ,we have serious talks and by the look of things she will get the money soon. Wait!!!A problem! For the inheritance put in her name she has to pay a fee of 1000 dollars. No problem i said,"i will help you" Today problem again! She needs to pay 70 000 dollars tax to the Nigerian government before they will release the sum of 50 million dollars. So i told him today is a holiday and i will go to see my agent tomorrow in order to send bitcoin because i do not have that much cash. Question? How long should i let this dispicable person dangle? I will see how far this goes. 1

Popular Post Fat is a type of crazy
There's some fun to be had on youtube. Kitboga comes to mind stretching out Indian scammers for hours and hours pretending to be an old man. Other youtubers with computer skills who turn the tables and disable the scammers computers. Keep going till you get bored or they get bored - sounds like a bit of fun.

AlexRich
You said “so I told him” ... but it’s a lady? Typo perhaps but probably accurate ... some guy sitting in an Internet cafe in Lagos looking for a mug to scam.
CrunchWrapSupreme
About 15 years ago I had an Eastern Euro lady string me along for over a month. I really thought it was legit. Personalized messages, coherent convos interested in each other, nothing to lead me to believe it was automatic or copy and pasted. She seemed like this exciting, talented musician, sharing pics of her travels and gigs, though they could've been stolen from anywhere. Finally it came, amidst her travels her gear had been seized by customs, and it would take a few thousand USD to get it out. Please, that's my livelihood, what will I do without it? You know you and I are getting closer, and I really want to visit the USA someday, blah blah. I halfway believed it, then eventually figured no, the whole thing's been a sham. But wow, so much time they invest in it. I guess it really pays off, as some really believe it. 1
Popular Post bendejo
Tell him you are from a very wealthy family, that your father is always talking about $$$ and hearing about it makes you sick, you are only interested in true love, etc. But you have a diamond broach you'd like to give her, perhaps she can pawn it etc. Then you can play it out for a long time, e.g. package to poste restante but tell him you sent it to a town a few hundred miles away from the one he gave, send him running. There is a bunch of people who scam the scammers and have fun doing it. There is a long story that precedes what you'll see in this vid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeuPI_NTdHc 1

Popular Post ukrules
Reminds me of an old website, 419baiter I think it was. Some guy on there years back pulled off the ultimate achievement - he got the scammer to send him some money to cover some fees. greenmonkey
A friend of my wife almost got taken in by one of these scams - I have to admit that there was some convincing stuff in the exchange of messages that even had me thinking the guy could be legit (these messages were deeply personal and emotional).... right up until the inevitable bs story "help...I was beaten up and had all my cards stolen and cannot get any funds to pay for my hospital treatment whilst in Malaysia finalizing a multi million dollar oil project".
tlandtday
If she really cares about you ask her (probably him) to write you a multiple page essay talking about their life and your life together after you send the money. Also ask for "I love you" to be repeated every third paragraph. That's a good start.

Are you thinking about 419eater with “Shiver Metimbers”? That site was hilarious and Shiver was an absolute genius. This was my favorite one where he got some guy to send him wood carvings such as a computer keyboard... https://www.419eater.com/html/john_boko.htm 1
Popular Post DaLa
I was on the receiving end of an email claiming they had video evidence of me watching porn on the internet. I used one of my ‘disposable’ email addresses to start up a conversation with the other party and created a dialogue over several days. I then used a ‘disposable’ sim and mobile number to contact the person using LINE which I said would enable me to pay the ransom. After a few more days the instigator had set themselves up with LINE and contacted me and even kindly provided a photo of himself. I wrote back: By using your phone to contact me I now have your location from the Global Positioning System. I have links with various terrorist organisations and have contacted ‘friends’ in Somalia to pay you a visit. Enjoy the rest of your (short) life.

I had the same thing happen to me about six months ago, with the email sender saying that he had evidence of the porn sites that I had visited (which I never do), even going as far as to say that he admired my taste!! He wanted an amount of around $4000 paid in bitcoin, otherwise he would send the information to the list of my contacts/friends which he had also (supposedly) gleaned from hacking my email address! And before I forget, he said there was no point in replying to the email because his email address was false, or something like that, and I would get no reply. I did a bit of research on it, and decided that it was a nonsense, however I did change my passwords on the likes of Facebook, Messenger and a couple of other sites and have heard nothing since. On a similar note, just recently I have been receiving quite a lot of spam mail, and although I have some spam protection on Outlook, some are still sneaking through!!! Oops, nearly forgot, a friend of mine in the real estate business here told me that he was onto a really good deal which would set him up for life, because a very wealthy buyer was in the market for buying up huge swathes of land and villas here in Phuket, and he was just waiting for the next move. I enquired after the origin of the buyer and he was a bit cagey, but he did send me a copy of the email he had received..........and, yes it was the old, "my father was finance minister in (African country) and was recently deposed from his position, but had $20 million to invest and needed help to spend it, so he was interested in buying property here in Phuket". There was a bit more to it, which I can't recall at the moment, but my friend was very keen on it and was sure that it was going to make him, however after advice from other friends in the business, he sent a few "test" emails to this potential buyer requesting funds to be able to set up an account here and so on. Obviously nothing became of it, however I was surprised that an intelligent Brit should be taken in by such a ploy, especially when the same one is as common as muck, and much discussed on Internet forums regarding scams.
