A team of police from the Choeng Thale station headed by Pol Col Peerachat Pombunmee, the Klang district chief Suwit Suriyawong and a local kamnan and phoo yai ban descended on a pool villa on Sunday evening.

They had received reports of a group of foreigners having an illegal party at house number 36/38 in Ban Layan in Choeng Thale, Phuket, reported Daily News yesterday.

The house owners Mr Carl M.A. and Mrs Bolton L. were taken away to the Choeng Thale police station to be charged with flouting 2015 communicable disease regulations and rules issued by the Covid authorities in Phuket province.

Daily News said in their headline that the partygoers were from "the land of gentlemen" - a common Thai reference to Britain, notes Thaivisa.

  • Why not just call in an air strike ? These old pissers are obviously a serious threat to society..not to mention causing Yorkshire pudding shortages across Thailand.

6 people and a child of around 11 or 12 years old have a get together around the pool and its called an illegal party? Surely we're missing something here as this is just bizarre.

  • That is no different to a large family sitting round a dinner table . But like the the Darts and the Bridge , it is much more newsworthy when it is the " white devils " doing it.

Sounds like disgruntled neighbors 'dropped a dime' on these 'viro-terrorists'

I expected a photo with dozens cavorting in the pool, Is that the evidence, really?

maybe their conversation drowned out the neighbors barking dogs

Does not appear to be news worthy. With all that's going on around us in a time of national crisis, this is deemed so important to make the news?

What is news worthy is how ridiculous this criminal offence appears NOT to be. Doesn't Pol Col Peerachat Pombunmee have anything better to do.

Oh sorry there is a business opportunity here!

Wear a mask, use hand sanitizers, scan QR code every time, avoid illegal drinks parties.

How hard can it be?

What's illegal about it ? gatherings of over 20 people are to be avoided, is that not the guideline ?

I thought drinking at home  "more than two people " was announced as banned.

So then, why were the home owners hauled off to the police station to be charged?

I clicked on this expecting to see some roided up herberts and their fake-titted, tattooed, GOGO dollybirds.

How disappointing ????

I believe that this was a family meal together, the host couple along with in-law couple and their children and certainly did not fall under the description of 'party'.  How pathetic.

I believe that stipulation was in Surat Thani, not Phuket.
