Might as well create a field hospital for all of Thailand at this point. 70 million cardboard beds while our glorious leader Prayut leads us into the abyss.

The abyss seems to he bigger than the Marianas Trench.....

Either that or they are feeding previously unreleased cases as they now have form for doing that.

It would be interesting to know exactly where these prisoner numbers are coming from. How many prisons? Is it prisons nation wide? One this is for sure the numbers must be higher than what they're giving. I think it's fair to assume that this is the Brit variant which as we know spreads like wildfire. In the (I said another word here that got deleted so I'll try again). In the (very bad) inhuman prisons they have here it would only take a day or two before the entire prisoner population becomes infected.

Vaccinations update through yesterday:

The chart below shows nearly 2.5 million total vaccine doses allocated for use thus far, with more than 2.2 million doses administered, including new vaccinations from yesterday reaching 93,688 doses, and then the subtotals by first and second dose shots.

The results below mean Thailand has fully vaccinated about 1 percent of its 70 million population thus far, and has given first dose shots to about 2 percent of its population, with a long way to go to reach its 50 million fully vaccinated goal by the end of the year.

Mostly but not entirely from Klong Prem Central Prison in Bangkok:

From last night:

"The Department of Corrections says 506 inmates and 2 wardens at Klong Prem Central Prison tested positive for COVID-19. The prison is located within the same perimeter as the Bangkok Remand Prison, where a cluster of infections came to light earlier this week."

OPINION: THAILAND’S SINOVAC DILEMMA

The government of Gen. Prayut Chan-ocha is facing double challenges in handling COVID-19. First, how to get enough vaccines in time before the situation is too critical, and second, how to convince enough people that Sinovac is a good and adequately safe vaccine.

Yes, Sinovac (known formally as CoronaVac) is the Chinese vaccine which has yet to have been approved by the World Health Organization!

Like it or not, the Thai government by the end of this month will have in its possession six million doses of Sinovac vaccines. The biggest lot, AstraZeneca, projected at 61 million doses by the end of the year is currently reserved for those 60 and older only.

Caring for your mental health during the Global Pandemic

The 3rd wave of the COVID-19 outbreak is pushing many people to their limit, financially and psychologically. It is even worse for people who have a preexisting mental condition.

The 2020 suicide rates in Thailand went up to 7.3 per hundred thousand of the population, with three main factors involved; personal relationships, chronic mental or physical illness and financial stress, according to Dr. Pornpimol Wipulakorn, Director of The Department of Mental Health.

And if the Indian variant  takes hold, if it has not already, and accelerates, then it will become a national catastrophe. The Czar whilst getting most of the blame currently is, don't forget, supported and maintained in that role by others whom also should be held equally responsible.

The buck stops at the top.
