Thanks for the report, very detailed and helpful. Much appreciated.
What I was curious to know was the steps of making payment. I logged onto my local health care group earlier this morning when it was still up, and after registration they gave you their bank account number for funds transfer, and then right below was a button to click to proceed if and when you have proof of payment. So my guess was that before proceeding any further, you've got to make payment somehow, then come back with proof ready to show/scan/upload when continuing onto the next step. Was that same how it went with you?

[If you could PM me that'll be great, I'm afraid this is off Sheryl thread topic.]

Just click through is all I can suggest. If it's translated from Thai, the past, present and future are all one.

OM!

First off, I needed to change the date given to me (which had been June 29) and the (very good) English-speaking lass on the phone was very helpful, called me back in 20 min with a new date.

It all looks like chaos in there but actually works surprisingly well; 30 min from entering to needle. My blood pressure was high (it always is in hospitals) but after a quick discussion among themselves they let me proceed. The 30min after-wait took 45, but no drama.

I did notice, to my surprise, that most others were distinctly under-60.

No apparent after-effects as           (and here the pathetic message ends............................)

The 'no alcohol' is not official at all. It's not mentioned at the hospital and there are many uotes from (eg) UK saying drinking has no effect one way or the other before or after (unless you get so p1sed you can't recognise any symptoms).

I think many TV readers might forgo getting vaccinated if they thought a week off was compulsory!

However, advice at Phyathai 2 that "you may go swimming after two days" was, in the circumstances, just taking the [deleted].

Arrived 90 mins before appointed time, although one hour would have been enough.  Perhaps 50 or 60 people waiting outside the main entrance, virtually all Thai, being processed in an orderly and pretty efficient way.  Presented screenshot of CM Wall confirmation page and Pink card.  BP, Oxygen level and the usual allergy type questions (plus asking about recent food and drink consumption) before groups of about 12 were escorted to the 2nd floor into another waiting area before being called, vaccinated and then re-seated for about 25 minutes to check for any adverse reaction(s).  Another BP and oxy test and then sent on my way with an appointment for no. 2 in November.

The initial waiting area. Groups of about a dozen were directed inside to the 2nd floor for the jab itself.

The 1 week alcohol abstain  rule was mentioned twice in my  30 minute observation room session plus when given our next appointment date.  Below is a cut and paste of there rules from their website - there it mentions 2-3 days before and after and not 1 week. so your comment "not official at all" is FAKE news.  .

Dos and Don’ts before and afer receiving the vaccine

  • Kindly restrain caffeine ( tea or coffee) intake prior and after receiving the vaccine the entire day
  • Make sure you have not taken Influenza vaccine a month before receiving the Covid vaccine
  • After vaccination, if you have heavy body ache, you can take half tablet of paracetamol (500ml) with a gap of 6 hours, make sure not to take Brufen , Arcoxia or Celebrex ( NSAIDS).
  • Receive the vaccine on the arm you don’t use much for daily activities and after vaccination, make sure to rest the arm and do not carry heavy objects with vaccinated arm.
  • Make sure you are well rested; have at least 8 hours of sleep the night before being vaccinated.
  • Make sure you are hydrated , kindly drink 1 Liter of water on the day before receiving the vaccine.
  • Make sure you do not have a fever or other sickness on the day you shall receive the vaccine.
  • Restrain from alcohol consumption 2-3 days before and after being vaccinated
  • Restrain from Exercise or weight lifting 2-3 days before and after being vaccinated

  • Don’t Exert and Just relax!

They are talking about doing flu and  wuflu  shots one in each arm at the same time for UK  guinea pigs this winter.

Talking about “fake news”? Well I have just been in the same facility and there was no mention and nothing said when handing out the second date.

Here's just one item from thousands:

“The Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) - the body that approved both the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine and the Pfizer/Moderna vaccine for use - has stated that “there is currently no evidence that drinking alcohol interferes with the efficacy of the Covid-19 vaccines. We would advise anyone concerned about this to talk to their healthcare professional.”” (Independent, 4 May 2021)

Oh, and two or three days is (sorry, are) not a week...................

How did you register: Mor Prom - using details on pink ID.

Vaccination received: Yes

Type of vaccine :  AstraZenica

My Covid 19 Vaccination Report

Appointment booked through Mor Prom App in May 2021, using Pink ID Card details.

Appointment arranged for 1300 on 1st July at Bangkok Hospital Phetchaburi and sent to the App - I am Cha-Am resident.

Phone call the day before from the hospital to remind me of the appointment.

Arrived at 1245, registered at first desk, Pink ID seemed to be the clincher.  Given number 40.  Called to second desk for blood pressure check, height, weight etc.  I get white coat syndrome, so blood pressure too high - Systolic 166.  They will not give vaccine if BP is over 160. Waited 15 minutes and blood pressure now 156.  Waited another 10 minutes, then called to third desk.   Simple health questionnaire, any recent illnesses?, previously had COVID?, do you have any concerns about the vaccine?.  Another ten minute wait then called to booth for vaccination.  Very fine needle, honestly did not feel a thing.  Sticking plaster applied.  Told to wait for thirty minutes, to confirm no immediate side effects. After thirty minutes went to final desk, was asked if any side effects - none.  Blood pressure taken again - now 139.  Details updated on computer and appointment for 23 September given.  More Prom app immediately showed the update. Requested to report any symptoms the next day via Mor Prom App. Allowed to go home.  Very useful to have a Thai speaker with you, I was the only farang there.  Mornings are much busier than afternoons.  After effects, some tiredness, but fine after a short nap.  So far so good.  The process was smooth and professional and free.  Astra Zeneca vaccine.

Print out all documents from thailandintervac but not a single piece is required. Just bring your passport will do. After registration will be given a form to fill up. After filling have to give it to the nurse/staff so they can call you for blood pressure test. Quite a few people sitting there without submitting the form waiting for their queue to be called. Lastly, Phayathai 2 has 2 buildings. Please note where you parked. I parked at building B because it's the first building upon entering the premise, but took vaccine at building A. Both building carpark looks identical and I have been searching for my car at the wrong building.

Sinovac 2nd dose is around 4 weeks but AZ is 12 weeks. My 2nd appointment is end of Sept and I'm keeping my finger crossed that vaccine shortage will not happen at that date.

Had debilitating flu like symptoms the day after my first Astra Zeneca jab, which more or less confined me to bed. Symptoms had subsided by noon of the third day. I was expecting a reaction, as I’d had similar symptoms after a flu jab a few years ago.

Pattaya City Hospital

Registration by Mor Prom app in May with Pink Card

Type of Vaccine:  Sinovac, second jab

Received vaccine?  Yes

This was my second jab of Sinovac after the first jab June 14.  There were people there getting Astra Zeneca, too.  Thai partner asked if I could get AZ as my second dose but was told no.  Arrived around 9am and it was pretty busy with maybe 100 people but things got sorted fairly quickly.  Had to fill out the same form as before.  Blood pressure taken, got the jab, and then went to the station where you wait and they input your information.

With this hospital, you don't get a paper certificate saying you have had your 2 vaccines.  Instead, the information is suppose to go to your Line account--which it did for my partner and, hopefully, will be the same for me.  I was the only farang I could see when we first arrived but there were several more by the time we were leaving.  Arrived around 9am and was out before 10am--by then there were fewer people.  I think the vaccine supplies are still very limited for Pattaya and most of the people getting their vaccines today were likely taken care of in the first few hours.

Just posting a follow-up question.  For those who have had their two jabs, did you get any sort of paper certificate after the second jab?  I had my two jabs at Pattaya City Hospital and all I got was a form sent to my Line account.  It was almost entirely in Thai, including my name.  I think only 'Covid' was in English.  I'm not sure how you would be able to use something like this as vaccination proof to travel abroad.  Anyway, just curious as to what others have received.  Thanks.

After only one jab AZ I was able to get a National Thai Vaccination Certificate from the hospital that staffed my vaccination center on Phuket.  This is useful because only one (1) jab of AstraZeneca will allow you to re-enter Phuket without taking a covid test.

While the paper certificate is bi-lingual Thai and English, the QRC when scanned takes you to the MOPH site and unfortunately that is only in Thai.

Vaccination received (yes/no) YES

Hubby and I don't have yellow book/pink card, yet we are over age 65 and have at least one "chronically ill" problem each. After emailing the CM Health Department and asking when we would receiving a date for an appointment, I received a reply that there are Thai people still waiting to be vaccinated.  When I asked for clarification if this means that Thai people have priority over foreigners of older age and higher health risk, they responded "yes".  That was the final straw.

I forwarded this reply to the U.S. Consulate and Embassy and amazingly had phone calls from both the Acting Ambassador and Consul General.  Based on these phone calls and the risk of the Delta variant in Thailand, I decided it was time to act on my own.  I am now in Guam.  Pleasantly waiting for 14 days to pass until I can return to Thailand.  Guam just reopened the country to anyone who tested negative before entering.  No need to quarantine.  It's a beautiful island.  The entire island is duty-free.  Americans, come here and get your vaccine for free, your choice of vaccine, at the local mall.  Others, there is a nominal charge.

When I return, Hubby will come to Guam.  Someone had to stay home to take care of the cats.

Well done, is this an option for non USA people? UK?

Wonderful! Thanks for the information. I'm in the same situation. My Thai Mrs agrees 100% with our community hospital. She honestly believes it is correct that a healthy 18 year old Thai should always have priority over any foreigner.

If it's not personal, and providing you were not sworn to non-disclosure, could you share any useful info that you got from those phone calls, especially regarding the incoming Pfizer donation to Thailand that may - or may not affect the US expat contingent? The appointment was supposed to be on the 3 rd. July , but when I went

they had no vaccine ..and could not say when they would,  but on the evening

of the 5 th my wife was looking on the hospital's Facebook page and it said

those that came on the 3 rd. should come on the 6 th, it's a good job she checked

otherwise would not have know,

So arrived and it was very well organized , got a number ,wait to be called

hand papers in, checked move to have blood pressure taken, OK  move on

to the nurse that gives the vaccination,   then you had to wait in another

area for 30 minutes to make sure you had no reactions,     so now it's the 8 th

hearing about all these side effects that people could have, I am wondering

Doesn't it speak volumes that I immediately started to research where I could go elsewhere to get vaccinated?  We don't have Thai family members watching out for us.  Hubby and I are on our own and I truly felt on our own after those phone calls.  I don't want to derail this thread.  If there are additional questions, please PM me and if there is enough interest I'll start a thread about how to go to Guam to get vaccinated.

I was mostly interested about what they've got to say regarding the incoming Pfizer donation - maybe that got nothing to do with the lack of vaccines for US expats in Thailand, but maybe from their wording, if they say anything at all, we could tell which way the wind blows, especially for those of us who have to wait in place... Thanks anyway for the Guam vaccination program info and enjoy your stay in Guam.
