Which hospitals between now and Monday will post that they do not have enough vaccines to go around past a certain date, like a hospital posted last night.  How many of these vaccinations will be for 2nd jabs and how many will be for the first jab.  Will todays meeting chaired by the PM give the parameters and such a green light for the Phuket Sandbox even without the chance they will obtain a true 70% of the population having both vaccines, and then what will happen with the October 1st launch of "No quarantine" in the other provinces.

I await the daily report of those in the hospital, those in serious condition and those on ventilators.  This wave just seems to keep moving along and creating more clusters.  The Chicken processing plants are the new big ones......stay safe folks and hopefully we can get vaccinated with a vaccine of our choice soon as the US has just announced they will be sending millions of vaccines to countries including Thailand.

Knowing their undeveloped  mindset they will probably decide to get their buckets and spades out and build sandcastles.

Catch crabs.....?

A very low number from prisons and 4 days in a row with 30+ reported deaths. Pretty much groundhog day with community infections. Today or tomorrow will see Thailand at number 80 on the covid charts. A move up of 37 spots in around 6 or 7 wks.

You beat me.  I have no usual drivel to add.  ;(

From the entertainment areas you mean ?????????

I wish they would stop bringing hundreds of people to indoor vaccine centers - these places have the potential for superspreading the virus

They need to rethink this urgently

Likely most will be one jab and the definition of population will be massaged, so as to increase the percentage vaccinated, but come hell or high water, that 70% level will be declared as having been achieved. Too much loss of face if it isn’t.

I’ve more less tuned out the sandbox thing, imho it’s really just for show and the number of real tourists will be next to none. But for some it will be a very useful mechanism for getting back into Thailand.

did they not announce a few days ago that they were trying for herd immunity in prisons - so why bother testing - no tests no cases to report, seemingly a strategy we are all familiar with on TVF with many discussions on the subject

Still 175th for deaths per 1m population,

The BP this morning have reported that Udon Thani hospital have announced the postponement of vaccination appointments which have already been booked by 246,000 elderly and those with underlying health conditions due to the province only receiving 3,600 does of AZ.  The same applies to other provinces.

Interesting times ahead.

So just a confirmation of what everyone expected for a long time already.

duh...1 case a day would show a "clear upward trend". Aside from trying to mislead readers, what is your point?

Do you think they have a black bag with a 1000 balls in it painted with the numbers from 2000-3000?

  • Approximately 7 million for Asia to the following countries and entities:  India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Maldives, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Papua New Guinea, Taiwan, and the Pacific Islands.

Gonna spread pretty thin.

Wonder how the Government will spin this, maybe they will say "We have enough vaccine for use, but only at the Government Vaccine centers and not at Hospitals".  Your guess is as good as mine, but it looks like what i wrote in an earlier post is starting to occur.

Brian’s point is clear: there has been a small increase in cases over the last few weeks- this wave cannot go away until cases start to decrease.

The big question is whether this increase - which is caused by the emergence of hotspots in the greater Bangkok area - will dissipate as clusters are eliminated, or will the clusters expand citywide....

What point are you trying to allude to? That the cases are not trending upward? That the cases are stable?, or are they trending downward?  What is your view? instead of criticizing a graph which points to the obvious and shows the stats that the trend line is upwards, prove it is wrong by showing your own links and proof instead.

They are factual statistics, a one day increase would not show an uptrend, you really are showing your ignorance in understanding charts and how to read them.

This is a cumulative chart, it will never go down.

So Chonburi has had an increase again.  Is it because of clusters, chicken factories, or is it in the public markets and bar/entertainment centers?

The Chonburi Department of Public Health announced 101 new and confirmed cases of Covid-19 with one new death today, June 4th , mostly driven by two new clusters which were a Chinese party and ice factory.

This makes a total of 4,892 cases of Covid-19 in the current round of infections, with 974 still in medical care, and with a total of 29 recorded deaths in Chonburi since the start of this recent round of infections in early April. One additional death was announced this morning although details were not released.

Additionally, 3,889 people in total have now been released from medical care and fully recovered since this current wave began. 110 people were released yesterday.

According to the Pattaya News, its due to finding 2 new clusters.

But, this begs the question of whether Whack a Mole is going to be effective. By the time a cluster is identified, the virus may have already spread elsewhere.
