Mice in the car, how to get rid

Thank you all for good ideas and sharing experiences.  The poison works by turning their blood to cement or some such thing so they dry out.  Mothballs an rat spray seem like the best solution.  It is my own fault really as I use those plastic baskets for keeping things and groceries in the boot.  Setting them beside the car with rags in no doubt invited the mice to make a nest there and they just moved into the car when I put the basket back.  Thanks again.

Befriend a cat? My cat loved the critters. Would bring them to me to show that she was doing  good job.

It's not nice that they chew the hose, but at least they take it to get repaired... that is considerate.

  • I put medium size mothballs in the tops of spray paint cans (or other similar) and place the tops in outer areas of the engine compartment.  That's worked for me for years.....living in the jungle.

You do not want to poison them.  They'll die and stink up your car.

Drive them away with moth balls as suggested.  Use lots.
