Credit: SG Magzine There is a small chance that tourists visiting Phuket under the ‘Sandbox’ project will be able to drink alcohol, albeit in restaurants, when they start arriving from July 1. On Friday, the Center for the COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) announced an easing of restrictions across the country. Among the most notable of the restriction easing was that Phuket was reclassified as a ‘yellow zone’ province. While some restrictions remain in place, restaurants in yellow zone provinces are allowed to open as normal, including being able to serve alcohol. Last week, Patong Mayor Chalermsak Maneesri confirmed that pubs, bars and other entertainment venues across Phuket will remain closed for the July 1 reopening. But with restaurants in Phuket being given the green light to reopen, it means that Sandbox tourists would be able to stay on the island with a degree of normality. Phuket will officially become a ‘yellow zone’ on Monday (June 21). This means that as of next week, people living in Phuket could potentially enjoy what now seems like the novelty of having a glass of wine with their evening meal. Admittedly, the chances of this happening from Monday are pretty slim as the final say on restaurants being able to serve alcohol will come from Phuket’s provincial governor. However, by July 1 and with the situation improving on the island daily, there is a good chance that restaurants will be open as normal - and serving alcohol. -- © Copyright Thai Visa News 2021-06-19 - Whatever you're going through, the Samaritans are here for you - Follow Thaivisa on LINE for breaking COVID-19 updates 14

Popular Post DaLa Posted June 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2021 This is completely contradictory to the previous post on the 'easing of restrictions' . That specifically states that the restrictions on the serving of alcohol has not changed and that applies to the Yellow zones. Let me know if I'm wrong, in which case the cars getting loaded up for a 500 mile trip south. 2 4

Popular Post pkrv Posted June 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2021 You might get to enjoy a drink with your dinner. You might get a fine for not wearing a mask as you lie alone on a deserted beach, which also might now have tar-balls. And you might get a false positive PCR test and be dragged away to hospital to enjoy the remainder of your stay. Welcome to Mighty Phuket. 6 2 16

Might beeing able to drink alcohol makes all the hassle worth, it's not like you could have a drink anywhere else in world. 1 9

khunPer Posted June 19, 2021 Posted June 19, 2021 A little improvement for tourists looking for a nice vacation. Perhaps getting rid of the wristband, making folks feel like a criminal, also would help on improving the interest...???? Hotel bookings of 20 percent and a total of 100 airline seats booked on combined THAI flights for first week, according to other news articles today in Thaivisa, won't help much to the nation's lack of tourist income. 2

Popular Post Skeptic7 Posted June 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2021 Well past time to end this BS insanity. Should never have shut down, nor stopped serving alcohol in restaurants anywhere...so much as still enforcing such lame-brained ideas. 12
Popular Post Alfa Posted June 19, 2021 Popular Post Posted June 19, 2021 Who said, it's 1 st of July. They change everything every day. First it was 7 days any hotel.......Then it's 14 days * actually 15 days * then it's special hotels, then you have to wear wrist band, then you have to pay for 2 more tests at the hotel, then It's not 1 st of July. I really hope ????all your arrangements come to fruition 1
