My nickname at school from my friends fron about 6 was Gumble - named after the book Bottersnikes and Gumbles. Gumbles were short fat things - like me at the time.

Still called it now 50 odd years later, though those calling me it still are far far fatter than me now !

If I was called it now as a kid, I'd probably be rushed to therapy and the children given woke lessons on insulting fat kids

Heat - Pete the heat....

Playing ball, the more pressure situations the more I responded & excelled.....

Never being loud or demonstrative I dialed up the intensity....

Was that nickname after 1956 Elvis, or 1967 Elvis, or 1977 Elvis.

I was given the nickname in the nineties and still had long hair like Elvis in the seventies.

Still do today.

The Sherriff, from my rugby league playing days on the north coast of NSW Australia. Inspiration apparently came from the sherriff character in Dukes of Hazzard.

Also used in a more endearing way. My wife 90% of the time uses it to me.

and moo ooun [fat pig] is a term of endearment intimate enough that only my wife and kid would use it..
