Inoculation of French nationals aged 55+ in Thailand begins Wednesday, June 23

Inoculation of French nationals in Thailand, aged 55 and over, begins today (Wednesday) for two weeks at eight hospitals across the country, according to the French Embassy in Bangkok.

 

The inoculation is taking place at Bangkok Hospital facilities in the capital, Chiang Mai, Hua Hin, Pattaya, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Koh Samui and Udon Thani.

 

Vaccination is only on appointment basis. Registration is available at https://form.jotform.com/211522249844455.

Vaccination is on a voluntary basis and free of charge, as it is being subsidized by the French government, the embassy’s statement reads. The vaccine being administered is Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen.

Well, talk about efficiency! It was just talked about yesterday and put in place today. Wondering, I read that they ordered 10,000 doses. If all willing French nationals above 55 get their dose, would it mean they would distribute to younger French people if there are doses left over?

This is also a big loss of face for the Thai Government, as Thai's residing in western countries are able to get vaccinated quite easily

To our British Embassy representative (who I know reads these threads and sometimes answers queries):

 

Why can't the British embassy here step up and do the same thing for British nationals that are in vulnerable groups but unable to receive a vaccination?

All the other embassies must be pretty <deleted> about the Frensh... For month we only hear it's not possible, it cannot be done, only the Thai government can import, we want but we cannot.... The truth is simple: They just don't want. Good on you, France!

I have read that this vaccine is rather for old ( more than 55 ) , and not for women under 50 years old

not the best, but 65% effective for normal covid and 85 % for serious covid ( hospital etc ... ) 

I am registered at BH in Bangkok, 30 of june ( very easy to register, Thai government should take lessons for their 90 days or Covid registration system )
